They had a quite a few hits, including 5 Top Tens.

No need to apologise though!

Gutted to this someone considers The Dandy Warhols a OHW. They've had several albums and a few singles which a lot of people would recognise (Not if you were the last Junkie on earth; We used to be Friends to name 2).

One of my favourite bands- great live. Bohemian Like you really isn't their best- it just got attached to an advert.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest...

Some people get confused between one hit wonders and bands they only know one song from!

True, that's the only song of their's I know, but the very definiton of a OHW is bands/ artists that have only had one 'hit'.

According to Everyhits, this is TDW's UK chart history.

Position Title Date
29 Every Day Should Be A Holiday Feb 1998
13 Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth May 1998
36 Boys Better Aug 1998
38 Get Off Jun 2000
5 Bohemian Like You (re-issue) Nov 2001
34 Get off (re-issue) Mar 2002
18 We Used To Be Friends May 2003
34 You Were The Last High Aug 2003

The only single to peak anywhere near BLY was seven years ago, then one that got to 18. The others hardly troubled the chart. Someone's been viewing them through rise-tinted spectacles I suggest. I stand by my description.

Seriously? 3 songs in the top 20 and 8 songs in the top 40 means they're a One Hit Wonder?

Harsh!

There was at least two other hits from them

COME BACK

Down by the docks the talking turned:
"As some are striving to survive,
the others thrive"
(Reaching the realm of no return)
"I don't want charity, just half a chance
and it's all up to you, yes it's all up to you"

Come Back! I'm willing to try
Come Back! Don't let time go by
Come Back! The will to survive's
Come Back
Come Back! With time on my hands
Come Back! I'm making a stand
Come Back! To kill or to cure
Come Back! To god-given belief

SINFUL!

It's sinful
It's tragic
It's sinful
It's tragic

Hey Joe! I got the news tonight
well, should I laugh or should I cry or should I stay and fight?
It's sinful, so true

Hey Joe! I know I sound confused
but do you ever get the feeling that you're being used?
It's sinful, so true, boo hoo; sing!

barada barada barada barada biyah

My suggestion would have to be Wake up Boo by the Boo Radleys though they did have another minor hit way Find the Answer Within which never dented the top 30 because Wake up Boo was still riding high in the charts at the time.

Nouvelle Vague ?

One of my all time favourite one hit wonders is a really ancient one from 1969, "In the year 2525". I know it was a one hit wonder, but like dreame123, I cannot for the life of me remember the artist.

I love that one too! I did a lyrics search and loads of artists came up but mostly Zager and Evans. Apparently the full song title is "In the year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus)'.

Great song

I think we should rename this thread 'your favourite one top ten hit wonder' then we include the likes of Cameo and Dandy Warhols.

What about Amnesia and Top of the World?

Definitely not one hit wonders.
