ive seen this done with cards

basically someone touches a ciggy box for 3 seconds while spencer looks away, then spencer puts his hand above each box, one at a time, without touching them and tells them which was the box they touched.

And yes, i would love to know how its done if anyone knows

I think it has something to do with the place you touch on the first box Tony.

If the box picked is the top right box then the first time you touch a box you touch it on the top right hand corner, after that the other person knows which box it is and just keeps playing along until the correct box is touched.

i think people are talking about 2 different tricks here

the first one (the one i was talking about) was where there were 4 ciggy boxes next to each other on the table, and spencer would look away while a housemate touched one of the boxes for 3 seconds. Spencer then put his hand over each box and was able to tell which box the housemate touched.

the second was where they had 9 ciggy boxes laid out on the table in a 3x3 formation, and someone would choose a box while spencer was not looking. Spencer would then come back and someone would say "is this it", "is this it" etc pointing to different boxes. i think i know how this trick is done.

anyway if anyone knows the first trick i would be very happy

the boxes in a row is really odd, you obviously need another person to give it away, but who is it?

The tricks he's been doing were all on a tv program that was on just before Christmas "Street Magicians Tricks Revealed" or something.

The first trick (where he guesses which box someones touched) is done with the help of someone else in the group. When spencer puts his hand over the right one, that someone gives him a signal - lifting a drink or somthing, to signify thats the one.

oh well.... now Jade has worked the game out she just could not keep her BIG mouth shut and basically tipped off PJ how it was done. Sorry Huchio but that gal deserves all the slagging off she can get this side of the BB house! Now PJ has put Lee out of his misery!!!! But Sophie still cannot get it despite being TOLD how it works! I thought she was intelligent?!!!

i think its to do with the number of words said to tell spencer he can look now, eg "ok you can look now", or "which one" - just which person is helping him?

When Spencer was doing it before he looked at Johnny. It was difficult to tell with the camera angles but I think Johnny rested the same number of fingers on the edge of the table as the correct box's position in the line from left to right.
