Can someone remind me how many nominations they have to make each...I think it was 2 last year; but I couldn't quite remember???

Yup, unless things have changed drastically each housemate has to nominate 2 people for eviction. It has been indicated that they will need to give more detailed reasons this year other than stuff like 'I think s/he wants to go home', and failing to provide a full reason could result in the person being awarded a 'strike'.

The way things are going over the last couple of days I think we could see more than 2 people up for eviction this time round - I think that there may be three people up for it this week.

that happened last time though didn't it - ie when three people had the same amount of nominations they were all pledged to the public?

I think, when the housemates were discussing the rules of nominations, they said that BB can change the minimum number of people up for eviction at any time. Whether this means they can change the number of people they have to vote for or not is a different matter.
