Getting ridiculous
Jason C

Yesterday, almost every BB watcher was up in arms about how easy the housemates' task was, and how much they got as a reward for it, in £400 shopping and a hamper.

Well in the last hour, Big Brother has offered the housemates a slap-up, multi-course Chinese or Indian meal for tonight; they took Chinese.

I think the ease by which the housemates are getting so much food for so little effort from themselves is getting really quite laughable, and I'd be interested to know if others feel the same.

I agree that things have been good for the house in the last couple of days, but remember it started with a fairly traumatic week.

And I wouldn't expect things to stay like this for long. Soon, maybe even next weekend, they may be faced with something that brings them right back down again.

EDIT: I think the meal is to create a welcome for Sophie rather than a reward for any achievement.

Yes, but we (think) we know the reason for the easy qui and £400 shopping money. Perhaps the meal is thier last supper?

We already know BB is more prepared to mess with peoples heads then in previous years.

I agree, but everything that's happened so far on Big Brother has been known about to the public. It would be nice to do something that not only comes as a surprise to the housemates, but also to the public.
It would certainly make for suspensive viewing.

I should hope so, but even if the housemates are going to be faced with testing times, I still maintain that there was no need for them to be given a hamper yesterday as I think they had enough food already.

The question is: should Big Brother compensate for bad experiences the housemates go through by offering them good one in equal measure? I personally don't think so, but that's what seems to be happening at the moment.

Does anyone else feel cheeted that the task was soooo boring and quick?
Remember last year when they all had to run outside and dance for 30 seconds? That was soooo funny!
I think this year they have got too much time on their hands

yep they are bored and most of them going insane, literally.

Sandy is going a bit strange
Kate keeps singing the same tune/weird voices
Jonny is thinking about what BB told him earlier :/ and lost the plot
Alex worries too much and needs to present his arguments more constructively
Jade was already insane
Alison keeps prancing around as though shes 9 years old and keeps phoning an imaginary friend.

Spencer has withdrawn to keep his sanity
PJ sounds depressed and pissed off with the whole group
Sophie looks intimidated and nervous
Adele is sane
Lee is sane

Yup, over a week on and they haven't had to do hardly anything... I missed the painting business, but not what you'd call a challenge. I think things will start to change a lot this week - thinks they may be being lulled into a false sense of security. But surely, if BB messes with minds too much they will just take the exit route in protest? They are already on tenterhooks some of them?

They also got football nets and footballs when sophie entered...

I think the sunday meal is planned - I remember them talking about it during the week, maybe its a weekly thing?

Yeah, i think it will cross some people's minds to walk as no one seems interested in the 70k any more. The first year that's what they all were after, but now they all get their 15 mins of fame it doesn't matter whether they win. Lynne told Dermot earlier she'd been offered big money to dish the dirt.

I think your right so they should at least bump up the winners pot. How much do they make off phone calls again? Surely it wouldn't hurt to bump the prize money up to, say £250,000. Then it will mean a little more. Funny thing is if Spencer wins i can see him going back to his normal job, refusing to do additional press and all the other stuff that comes with it.

I think its more interesting to watch how the housemates deal with extremes of happiness and sadness. Its another major factor that can influence the housemates and can bring out their true feelings by creating more stress for them as individuals and as a group. We'll have to wait and see what other events take place to decide whether this is what C4 are trying to achieve.
