I find the coverage of BB on both Ch4 & e4 this year to be very annoying. Camera work is so poor that at times I think that Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could do better!

For example tonight on e4 interactive there is a screen about 'Sophie arrives' that shows virtually nothing of Sophie, just everyone else.

But this seems to be the case, too often they are not concentrating on the 'action' part.

agree its shocking. its so frustrating when theyre not focusing on the people who are actually talking. one of the most telling things in there is peoples facial expresssions, but all too often we dont get to see these at crucial points.

There are destinctive reasons as to why they are doing this.

1) They are doing wide shot pan view points, so that you can see as much or possibly as little at any one point.

This factor is due to the shows that are shown at night, because they are wanting to show the better parts and to keep you watching in the evening, even tho you have been watching through the day.

2) You have got to consider the factor that in any 1 room there is over 24 cameras, thus allowing for every angle and position possible, you are not going to miss anything important.

They don't show you all the camera angles because of the broadcast feed, you still get to watch.

3) The different show times showed.

This factor has been in it since last series, showing what you could of missed before.

4) Sophies entry

You were looking at the other people, because you were meant to be looking at their reactions, not at how you thought that sophie was hot, and you wanted to see like all the others if she would trip on the step walking down the stairs.

In reverse order:

4. I was not really concerned about Sophie's 'hot' status, I just wanted to see what she looked like and also to see the housemates reactions to her, just general panning/switching camera work as I had missed her arrival for being out during the day.

3. All very nice if you happen to watch them all or get to see the show that will show the clip you are after.

2. I am sure that others feel the same, that at times when we get an audio feed of something else happening (or indeed something that we have been watching) but the current camera (sometimes both feeds) are focused on something else that I would consider less important.

I think that if they were to offer a similar system as the sport channels it would be great. Such as selecting a particular camera view, or following a person.

1.Either type of shot wont work if the subject matter is off screen.

You forgot reason number 5 - the most likely:

5) Lazy producers/editors.

What about when there's people talking in the main room and the camera's focused on someone asleep? What's that all about? We had this last year too! It's very frustraiting to say the least.

The Americans are the best at editing. They edit better in real time than the 12 hours C4 have to edit for each evening show of BB! I remember when some of them were reading letters from home they brought with them and you could actually read along with them too!! It has a lot to do with how the house it built because there is far too much space in our house.

Also they have 50 cams but how many of them are manned particularly at night? They built themselves a snazzy HQ to operate the cams in but like Supernova said they are lazy.

I agree. For example when Lee and Adele were talking this moring about lee admiring her they kept having the camera on sophie etc. They show too much of sophie jus cuz shes knew. we arent real bothjered.
