You want enlightenment?

Hey - 40s colours are coming back into fashion, you know.

I hope! I'm into muted browns / beige at the moment...

I think it's drab. Utterly drab, and conservative.

and the sideburns are unnecessary, just a feeble attempt to appear 'hip' - HA!

sooner he's gone the better

The new look is fantastic. More traditional than Eccleston's but still modern.

He'll be trying to sell Rose a pound of sausages cheap, as long as she doesn't ask where they come from!

Yes it is a Firefly and Serenity thing. Fans are nicknamed Browncoats

She's just getting over her first Doctor without worrying about her second's pound of sausage...honestly, it's a family show

Ok, I suppose I aim for "geek chic" generally so I shouldn't be surprised (still unsure of or , although I feel it should be ,certainly considering DTs costume fits well )

There's a new piece on the new look at the BBC News site: Doctor Who, fashion plate

I'm loving it - very cool, very sexy, I'm already dreaming of DT landing his TARDIS in my bedroom at night, whisking me off to another planet & finally <<<CENSORED>>>

I like brown - and I like DT in brown - generally things are looking good for the new series! Especially loving the long swishy coat thing which is a look that more people should go with.

At least they did goto Barcelona, check out billie's dodgy tan.

Doctor looks great, I'm really looking forward to Tennant as the Doctor.

I think I must be the only one around here who isn't looking forward to DT as the Doctor. I find it difficult to explain why I don't like him but there are just some people you take and instant dislike to and he is one of them I'm afraid. It's nothing to do with general antipathy for a new Doctor (though I do admit thinking CE was brilliant and really not wanting him to leave) - I didn't like him in Casanova, which I stopped watching after the first couple of episodes cos he annoyed me so much.

I wish I could like him as its completely ruining any anticipation I might have for the new series

Oh Eileen If there was a way of sharing "loin excitement" with a mate I surely would !
Think about Captain Jack, Rose, Cybermen, new Bad Wolf, the writer line-up, all the other things - and you never know, DT might not be as bad as your anticipation.
I really hope the excitement kicks in for you about all the other things to look forward to!
Edit: and if we ever organised the "talked about but we'll never bother off topic meet up in Cardiff" I'd want you there!

The new outfit reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite. Will the new Doc be "pretty good with a bowstaff" I wonder?

Thanks LG, I kniw you're a big fan of DT and I'm sorry I don't share your enthusiasm *tries to like him - fails* - I just get this sinking feeling whenever I see his pic as the Doc - hopefully he'll manage to convert me when the show starts but I'm not holding out too many hopes at the moment.

You're right about there being other good things to look forward to though - strike Captain Jack off your list though cos I never liked him either, far too perfect and smarmy for my tastes.

God, I sound grumpy at the moment.
