I'm with you on that one. He started off promisingly, with a hint of dodgy dealing, and darkness, Turlough-stylie.

But then just got all "good".

Bit of a let-down.

As for Tennant though - I love him - loved Casanova - and I think the outfit is v smart.

Who'd have realised as we sat with anticipation and watched the documentary on BBC1 before "Rose" that we were listening to the voice of the new Doc?

Not me...

God, I sound grumpy at the moment.”

Everyone's terribly upset that you're not excited, Eileen

Have we seen the pics in today's Sun?

There's something a bit melancholy about seeing him in CE's jacket...or is that just me?

Yeah, it doesn't seem very modern.
The leather jacket has a cool, calm look to it.

You see I really don't like him in the leather jacket (don't think he can carry it off like CE could) but think the brown suit and coat combo is terrific. It looks like something he'd naturally wear, but has the trademark DW slight eccentricity about it. Different strokes, etc.

CB was quoted as saying with that costume, that the best place to be was in it, looking out!

I actually quite liked the Sixth Doctor, he was trying to take it back to the First Doctor's arrogant and grumpy attitude, and the costume was part of his character. It is a pity that it was during his time that it started going downhill. He copped an unfair amount of the blame for that.

He wasn't wrong there That outfit may have been a satirical comment on the culture of the mid-80s, or it might have been a reflection on the dreadful taste of the production team in charge of DW in those days.

CB was quite Hartnell-ish, wasn't he? Image being everything, if he'd been able to dress in a black frock-coat rig-out, à la Hartnell, he might have been able to keep his own DW incarnation going a lot longer, Mikey Grade notwithstanding .....

And even his blue-striped pyjamas and bathrobe look great...

love the new suit, seems practical, makes him look authoritative and fun at the same time and he wouldn't look out of place in about 200 years worth of history!

Quite handy when you're a Time lord!

Welcome to the Forum, thunderchild, can't help but wonder if we're now going to have a rush of War Of the Worlds-based monikers appearing over the next few months...
