I am looking for an s-video (7Pin) extension cable ideally .5 meter long but will live with longer if needed.

Or an s-video 7pin Male-Female convertor.

Anyone any thoughts where I could purchase one.

TIA

Regards

AKS

Try Maplin , search for s-video. They have lots of leads and extensions.

Can't spot any converters there, though.

S-Video is only 4 pin. There are some PC's/Laptops with a special variant of the connector with composite video on extra pins. Sounds like you've got one of these. Though most of the one's I've seen have been physically and electrically compatible with 4 pin S-Video leads

You might find something in amongst the hundreds of results to a search on S-Video on the CPC website...

S-Video connectors do also exist in 7 pin form, they are usually found on professional S-VHS editing equipment. They can sometimes be switched between 4.43MHz chroma output, or the 627kHz colour under signal (as is recorded on S-VHS tape) in order to preserve signal quality when editing by avoiding conversions.
A dealer in professional video equipment can supply a 7 pin dub lead, or else contact Panasonic Broadcast division or JVC.
