Best mp3 mixing software
Does anyone have any suggestions for the best program for mixing mp3s on my pc. I have an external mixer and i am using VTT but i am noticing problems with getting the pitch right and crashing. I have head of a program beta testing called digital turntables and would like to try it if anyone knows a place to download. Also any other program suggestions would do. I dont like programs like pcdj etc btw

My favourite is MixMeister (www.mixmeister.com) it lets you pre-mix your tracks automatically or manually. The Pro version is well equipped for Live mixing as well. Mixmeister is great if your into compiling CD's for your own use and is as close as you can get to the Pro Tools system used for the big name mix albums.
For proper mixing though I burn the MP3's to CD and do the mixing with my Vestax CD decks and Numark mixer, you get much better results. |

I have PCDJ. I think this is excellent. You can also get it to play a playlist, and it seque the songs. It will play MP3, WAV and a CD in your CD rom. There is a free version (SILVER) on the website.
BLUE and RED you have to pay for. You can also get a controler from NEWMARK that looks like the Dennon/NEWMARK Double CD players. It plugs into the serial port and you can drive the PC just like the CD players. There are many things that you can do with it, sample, loop. Best visit the site to more info. I have used it on a desktop and laptop with no problems. It gives the opportunity to use one sound card and it's built in Mixer (But no PFL) or with two sound cards and external mixer. I would highly recomend it. www.pcdj.com |

Don't if it's what you're after, but Sound Forge is a brilliant program. I used it at college and i got one of the tutors to get me a copy.

thanks for all the responses but i am looking for a program which basically simulates cd or vinyl decks and will allow me to use an external mixer. Also an auto BPM would be nice too. VTT was about the best i have used but as i said earlier i am having trouble with the pitch ie it seems to only take affect if the up button is pressed about 5 times then it does a big pitch jump and ends up being a pain in the arse perfectly matching bpms

BPM studio also have a controller which looks like a Denon cd controller. |

a nice easy piece of software that any one can use and become a real good dj with.
with automatic bpm counter , it plays all mp3, wav and cds add all your tunes in diverent playlists and jump in and out of tham as u dj and mix. 4 second samples are easily made . in a few hours u will sound very proffesional without even trying. ]if your stuck and need some advice with the functions that are available email me or leave a message on the post. It was a reference to the diatribe that emanates from the South of London over the airwaves
Some people have no idea how rediculous they sound when put in charge of a mike One of them that goes out (sorry) on a Friday evening has a lithp and plays the same record every twenty minutes - hilarious I did think Kevin and Perry Go Large was excellent so I havent got it in for all DJs, honest. |
