Listening to Virgin Radio yesterday they indicated that THEY had only just received tickets for competition winners.

Sadly I'll have to make do with C4 coverage (at least for this year).

Got a letter today from the courier company saying they couldn't find the house so have got to ring them to arrange re-delivery!

This is mine and my friends first festival. Any tips?

It's on Virgin Radio through out the two days, and they normally do a really good job of it.

Got tickets last week, first time at V. I'm looking at the line up and I'm not that interested any more!

Well only 5 days to go now.

Is anyone else going? What bands do you want to see?

Whilst the others at home seem to think they've refound their youth and want to see Oasis I'll be off to Texas!

I'm a Virgin Radio listener - I've heard Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters to death, but I guess that might change once there.

Bravery and Kaiser Chiefs should be excellent.

Not heard much Goldfrapp, but sounds good from what I have heard!

As per most of Virgin's playlist 90 % of the line up is rubbish. If you want a proper festival try Reading/Leeds over August Bank Holiday for real music.

V Festival is 9 miles away, and 1 mile from where I'm staying, for free.

I'm mostly looking forward to The Stands, The La's, KT Tunstall, The Magic Numbers, Texas, Lucie Silvas, Tara Blaise (saw at IoW) and The Proclaimers (saw here 2 years ago).

Not too interested in the headliners really, except maybe Doves and Kaiser Chiefs.

You'll love it! I went in 2002/2003 and two of the best weekends I've ever had! If you are going to Hylands Park then you'll find it's quite a large site, but not too well signposted I found from the couple of times I went. I hope to be there next year

Has anyone had the stage times?

V is a great festival for your first time, it's the first one I went to and I'm going back this year and taking a friend along to break her in gently. I went to Leeds last year and Glastonbury earlier this summer but I'll always have a soft spot for V as it certainly gave me the bug.

Looking forward to Kaiser Chiefs, Hives, Doves, Athlete, going to the beer tent while Joss Stone is playing, having a good laugh at GLC and yes, probably watching all the headliners and loving them.

Glastonbury seems like a LIFETIME ago so I can't wait to stop being a professional career girl and get covered in mud again.

Oh deep joy - I work in an office overlooking Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

Can I suggest that anybody going to this venue comes well prepared. They have had major drainageworks taking place over the past 9 months and for the past two weeks there has been a European Scout jamboree. On top this it is raining so hard at the moment that the place is just going to be a mud pool. The weather forcast for tomorrow is just as bad - though Sunday may be better.

Enjoy everybody!!!!!!

tips would be -

1. plenty of loo roll, and baby wipes for the daily three wet wipe wash.

2.when the dreaded times come, look for loos with a [i]girl[i/] coming out - far more likely to have had a tidy up and left it vaguely presentable.

3. have a great time!

V Festival toilets are generally very good.

It's been chucking it down here just outside Chelmsford, I'd hate to be camping there!

I'd forgot they had EuroJam just recently there. Hylands Park is great.
