Has anyone else noticed the almost identical melody in Gwen Stefani's new song "Cool" and the Holly Valance song "Naughty Girl" Thes are both songs I love but both so similar!!

i really like it, but think it sounds like an old car song off their heartbeat city album. or at least it sounds as tho' it could be right off that album - but hey! thats old skool i guess.

they played something else it sounded like on chris moyles' show the other morning, but i can't remember what now...

I thought the tune sounded vaguely like Wham's Last Christmas.

She's not a particularly good lyricist but bizarrely this song is getting some good notices.

Fugging deaf GBP.

Compared to "Hollaback Girl" and "Rich Girl", this song must sound fantastic. On its own, it's a pile of wank though.

Anyone else noticed that Gwen Stefani has now released tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4 off her album, in that order? What's next... track 5?

Some acts put all the tracks they want to release as singles as tracks 1-4 on the album.

Although, the last album I bought that was arranged like that was 'Home' by Simply Red in 2003.

The first four tracks were:

1. Home (4th single)
2. Fake (2nd single)
3. Sunrise (1st single)
4. You Make Me Feel Brand New (3rd single)

When I first heard it I thought that Cyndi Lauper had released a new single it sounds so much like her. Then I realised it was only Gwen Stefani and was rather disappointed. Strange choice given the relative quirkie-ness of What You Waitin' For, Rich Girl and Hollabeck Girl. Presumably she's trying to say 'Hey, I'm not just this weird rock chick that always hangs around with Chinese women. I can actually sing ballads as well you know'.

you were dissapointed that cyndi lauper hasn't revived her career?

and anyway, (not that i'm a massive gwen fan) but wouldn't you be crying about her not having any variation if she DID only release weird rock chick music?

Cannot for the life of me see the appeal with Gwen Stefani. Atrociously dire backing music with vocals written by a 6 year old with a poor vocabulary. And that's just 'Hollaback Girl'.

All of the songs on that album have hooks from other bad songs.

And she sings through her nose...

I downloaded this song the other day, and thought it was excellent. I love all of Gwen's music. I had to go and find the lyrics though, cos I couldn't make out a word she was singing about, plus I wanted to sing along.

She is great, one of the best female artists around at the moment along with Kelly Clarkson and Joss Stone.

Cool is one of my favourite songs and i wouldn't be surprised if she continued releasing the tracks from L.A.M.B. in order right down to the last song. The album is fantastic and i really do hope Bubble Pop electric is rleased next since it is one of the best yet strangest songs I have heard.

She deserves a Number 1 soon though.

Actually I bought the album on the strength of the song Bubble Pop Electric. I found the rest of the album a bit of a disappointment tbh.

I don't think the quirky humour of her tracks if flying over your head
