Don't really think e-mailing them will work, they have an agenda that they will stick too as well as they can. - They will note any dissapointment you have as a statistic maybe.

I know but maybe somone will relise that if we dont like it then we wont watch, wich means we wont buy anything thats advertised during teh breaks, it goes on and on.

basically they will loose money if we dont watch. i want to watch, but if its boring then i dont c the point

No it has never been shown live before so it won't be tonight, it's just too risky for them i guess.

ITC regulations dictate that the programme is not shown truly live, there is always a 'Kill Feed' margin built in to almost all live TV.

As already mentioned in another thread, this is just not the case. The only delay in regular live programming is due to satellite travel.

Sorry but you are wrong, very little 'Live' studio based broadcasting on British TV is truly live, it has nothing to do with satellite travel in the case of the BB house.
'Kill Feed' is a fact of life on British TV, and for that fact, most other countries of the world. Satellite 'Bounce' is around 4.5 seconds at most at the present time.
The 'Kill Feed' delay on BB is somewhat more than 4.5 seconds.
It is there to protect the rights of the viewing public, and to comply with ITC Regulations.

Well it should be interesting for sure...

ALL the housemates have been told to pack their bags..possible task as well as eviction?

Someone claiming to be a reporter has said Sandy's replacement is someone called Alan, who is married and 28 years old, from Dorset..we shall see i suppose.

Oh, I take it back... the fact that I've worked in broadcasting for the last four and a half years, and worked on live programmes doesn't come into it then!

I accept that some programmes are on a delay for regulations reasons (TFI Friday started off live, but had to go on delay after numerous incidents which broke ITC guidelines)

There is nothing in the ITC guidelines that says you cannot broadcast live - and since I am a programme maker, I have had to read the ITC guidelines many times over!

I don't particularly care whether its 'live' or not, but I can confirm that I was able to vote OK when the banner was on screen that said 'lines close in 1 minute'.

Live can be such a misleading word can't it? I mean, what about things like 'Oasis live at Glastonbury' when it was in fact recorded two years ago. The performance was live, but the broadcast isn't. Or something

Possibly no percentages because there is such a big difference eg 80% - 20%?

You will find that the travel time is much less than your predicted "Satelite Bounce" theory, the signal travels at about 186,046 miles per second, therefore your calculated distance of the signal travel is approximately 835,000 miles.
in reality the Satellite Bounce delay is about 0.31 Seconds for each Satellite hop.

Each Satellite is approx 32,500 miles above the equator in Geostationary Orbit, total distance is about 65,000 miles

The "Kill Feed normal duration is 30secs " but is not a regulation, but is used in practice by most countries, plus the term "Live" does need to imply instantantaneous, the term can be also be used to signify live recording.
