Censorship - Gone too far?

So far we have:

E4 coverage almost unwatchable

We were 'told' about Sandy urinating in the bin! Ummm, don't you have cameras in the house?

The whole Sandy leaving revolt (including a discussion of mass walkout) was never even hinted at.

And after 2 series just waiting for sex, we allegedly have 2 BJs on the one night and there's no mention at all on any BB coverage, yet the media and gossip sites all have it.

BB is now total rubbish, whats the point of reality TV if they're editing it so much?

According to an article on the MediaGuardian web site, Lee and Sophie -- on the same night as PJ's BJ. The BB production team are referring to it as BB's BJ number two.

And what about Davina's comment on the show this evening: "Jade found a new way to supplement her diet..."!

BB is in a difficult position with the law isn't it? It cannot guarantee even after the 9.00 o'clock watershed that minors will not be watching... but I agree that BB on C4 especially tells a very skew story of what is going on, but nothing new there.

As for why they never showed sandy performing the actual act I am not sure... perhaps that will be one for the DVD ... or maybe Kates or Adeles leaving interview

Good job PJ wasn't in the rich house and Jade doin it through the bars or BB would have confiscated the 'supplement' as it had passed from one side to the other !!

Have you ever watched channel 5 after 10? It can't be anything to do with the watershed. C4 just want to sell us the video. And its gonna work

Yeah a little bit of movement of bed covers filmed by an infra red camera does not break broadcast regualtions. C4 wont get my money ANY OF IT. I'll just go to the newsgroups.

It's a balance of keeping enough viewers interested so they'll be hooked enough to go out and buy the uncut video.

I'm not sure I buy this 'Saving it for the video' stuff.

How much money do they make from the vid compared to the actual TV series. I mean there can't be that much money to be made from the video otherwise it would be a primary form of distributing entertainment.

It's not really a "legal" issue, it's do do with the conditions of the licence. It would only become a legal issue if something REALLY offensive were to be shown, so unless they start buggering (mods please don't edit this word out: it's a LEGAL word, and I should know) each other etc, most editing is presumably being done to make the video/DVD more interesting... he said cynically.
