Sorry, but call me a sentimental old fool but any 23 year old who actually has had 100 (what a convenient number) sexual partners OF WHATVER GENDER is a total whore. Work out the averages for god's sake.

well technically only a whore if they charged for it.... and with that many partners if they didn't, they clearly don't have a head for business

This kinda comment wouldnt even appear in the Scandinavian countries, they are too far advanced for such talk.

I am no fan of kate, but the use of that s' word is quite awful.
Why are the English still treating sex as something that is wrong ?
Number of partners is irrelevant.
At least Kate - who is quite grown up, should be able to hold onto the realisation that people who use such terms are simply not much more evolved than tree monkeys.

KATE , 'hang in there honey'.

AWWW thats so sweet , it must be hard enough for them in there without them having to think that the whole of the countrys opinions about them are the ones being shouted over the fence by someone who cannot handle thier drink or think of anything more intelligent or encouraging to say .

Agree. Kate's no slag; but she is an "alpha-female," which means that Sandy read her correctly - she's manipulative, but has so internalized this, she doesn't even think of herself as manipulative.

Isnt ' slag 'something to do with coal mining?, Something about inferior standard coal that you can sell so they pile it up onto slag heaps?

IMHO SLAG=someone who treats personal relationships in the same way as eating fast food...something to be consumed quickly and without thought or feeling, and forgotten about as quickly as it's eaten.

Hence, PJ does seem to fit this perhaps and no one else in the house does. Kate is an affable, flirty, confident (relatively) girl it seems to me.

Note, this definition of slag has nothing to do with numbers, and all to do with attitude. Someone could be a virgin and still a slag....but I hate that word as it is so jugemental and how people choose to live their lives is up to them. More acurate might be to call someone promiscuous if they sleep with many partners, but then you really do hit the problem of defining a number.

good point J!

One "man's" slag is another person's sexual libertarian.

It's a bit much to slag other people off for their private sexual preferences isn't it?

Ahh, the origins of the word, but a modern dictionary would also have an entry under "slang" or "colloq".

The good point is though that the origin of the word shows how its modern use was arrived at...

As fan-at-ic's definition most closely matches mine, that's the definition I'll select,. but thanks to everyonje else.
(if you've a problem with that check with Calrissian: and she'll agree that people tend to believe things that they already think and disregard the rest)

A 'slag' is a term of abuse used by a teenage girl who hasn't got a boyfriend about one who has.

Fan,

may I say how much I appreciated reading that.

I too am erring on the side of judgemental when I say that such thoughts m,ay be wasted in comparison to some of the other views I have read on this forum.

Thank you,
