Just a few observations on how I think Spencer and PJ are feeling.
As an ex-smoker who's gone through the hell of quitting, anyone who hasn't gone through the withdrawal from a drug does not understand at all how totally it can take over ones thoughts. There are horrible physical symptoms of nicotine withdrawal too such as muscle cramps which lead to huge psychological stresses. Add those on top of the extreme stress of being in the BB house, the stress of having only basic rations, and you're in danger of pushing someone too far. Comments about "cigarettes are a luxury" fail to recognise that it is an ADICTION.
Yes, people can choose to quit smoking, but it is NOT easy, and forced withdrawal (which I've also experienced many years ago) is torture and liable to lead to a violent reaction. I can completely understand why BB have provided Spencer with tobacco as I'm sure he was not dealing with withdrawal well and they couldn't take the risk of inflicting that on someone.
As for PJ, I can completely relate to his anoyance over seeing Sophie in the rich side for a 2nd week. All the people on the poor side have talked about how hard it is and how the fairest thing would be for people to have 1 week at most on either side....and then Alex chooses Sophie to enjoy 2 weeks? Everyone on the rich side would have been psychologically prepared to switch to the poor side, and everyone on the poor side would have been clinging to that hope of being on the rich side for most of the week...to have that hope snatched away and given to someone who you'd feel doesn't deserve it would feel like the person who'd decided that had kicked you in the teeth.
The fact that Alex made that choice I find facinating. Does he really feel so precious of not sharing his space with a disgusting smelly oaf?
While Alex had those moments to concider his decision I was trying to imagine being in that situation. I think I have a solution that if he'd chosen to do it would have meant he'd have won the show...
He could have choosen to remain on the poor side, and NOT taken anyone with him. Could you image how popular he'd have been in the house, and how people would have respected that on the outside? Instead, he's choosen to enjoy a week of luxury over a longer term goal....either that means he really doesn't care about winning, or he's just not able to think ahead?
Alex could also have said that he'd choosen Sophie as she was feeling down after Lee left, or some other good reason.
Anyhow - just for those that think Spencer is whining, get adicted to nicotine and then be forced to do without before you judge. And before you judge PJ, he has admitted that he's not coping well with the stress of being on the poor side, he's appologised to Jade already, and he's managed to calm down a lot already...surely in the face of such huge disappointment and the prospect of another week without decent food he's allowed a few moments of outburst? Hell, it shows he has feelings as opposed to being "on the fence" doesn't it?
