Can some one please tell me why people should want to watch Eastenders ? on the odd occasion that I have seen it the acting is straight out of the Wooden top school of Acting and the story lines are so unbelievable that they would be better kept for comic books

I watch it so I can come onto the forums and criticise it. If I criticise it without watching it that criticism is unjustifed because who would I be to comment on a programme I don't even watch? Of course if I deserves praise I'll praise it but judging by recent times I can't see that happening too quickly.

Why do people watch anything...because they choose too. I watch EE but dont feel the need to justify to you why I do.

Why do people watch Corrie? Neighbours? Hollyoaks?
Matter of personal opinion. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean others feel the same way.

I watch EE because I'm living in hope that there will be a big improvement in casting, acting and scriptwriting before too much longer.

I agree. There are loads of programmes I do not see the point of watching but I wouldnt expect anyone to justify their choice to watch what they choose.

I'm with soap addict on this one.

I miss it regularly now - sometimes just to watch programmes on the other side!!

At some point I will stop completely though.

They watch it for the same reasons that anyone watches <insert soap opera of choice here>.

I don't watch EE anymore, but I can't really say that it has got any better or worse during the last few years; I just have decided to stop watching it. Soap opera momentum/addiction/whatever is very much a thing of the present too. It dates horribly; so-called classic EE episodes (e.g. Den & Angie's bust ups) look ridiculous today.

What is being a troll about asking a perfectly reasonable question , I just may be doing it for my research that I do in my spare time,I will ask the same question about another soap when this one has run its course

Agreed. It's a pointless question.

I really think you're all over-reacting a little bit, here. You don't have to post here; only post here if you want to share the reason that you enjoy EE with other EE fans (or indeed to tell non-EE fans why you think it is good). If you don't enjoy it, or don't want to justify why you enjoy it, simply don't post.

By the way, I used to watch EastEnders for its interesting characters and, once, gripping storylines. But I have since stopped watching it.

Which is basically the same thing. If you ask me why I like something I would give have to reasons why I like it, thus I would have to justify myself to you.

People used to watch EE because it was great drama. Sadly I think a lot of people who watch it now just do it out of habit (myself included). Although I must admit I've missed a lot of episodes recently.

Let's hope we'll all be watching it because it's great drama again soon....but they do need to get on with it....September would be good!!
