Over the past year I've noticed on DS, the amount of Avril Lavigne news that gets posted, this is why I like this website so much.

I'm a massive Avril Lavigne fan, she's my favourite artist by far, I have every single song she's made, as well as all the covers. I've so far seen her in concert 5 times, as she's amazing live! I just find her very unique and she's not afraid to say what's on her mind.

I don't think her music is Punk/Rock but then again it's not all Pop, it's just the way I like it, she ain't fake and she's cr*p at giving interviews I know that for sure!

Hopefully, her new album SHOULD be out in 2006. As well her new MOVIE called "Over The Hedge" (Animated comedy - Avril plays a girl named Heather with William Shatner for a dad.) Which is duo out in about a year. Also she's got engaged to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley! So it's been a busy year for Avril. I know she's still touring around the world, so she must be quite stressed.

To add, she's also just done a cover of Imagine, I've not heard it yet, but it's suppost to be a good version.

Anyway, I've posted this thread, so people can discuss, share opinions about her, etc.

Recently, she's just been Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher which reduced her to tears:

I hope this episode of Punk'd gets shown on MTV in the UK real soon!

I Don't have great opinions on her as a person, but i dont want to spout negativity, as you're a huge fan.

I like two tracks on her second album, And I think her first album is really good, with stand out tracks like "Mobile", "Nobodys fool".

You forgot to mention her live DVD, due out later in the year.

This article only serves to strengthen the opinion I already had of "Punk'd". I think it's absolutely disgusting to exploit people's emotions for entertainment.

My opinions of Avril Lavigne aside, reducing someone to tears just so people can watch it and laugh at them is barbaric and inhumane. I am never usually in support of censorship, but I firmly believe that programmes like this should not be allowed. It's always wrong to play with people's emotions, but to do it on (inter)national television is just sick.

No idea! She finishes touring on the 6th, i think, so she will probably start writing some stuff soon? I think a single should be out by January. Well, I hope so anyway!

Another huge avril fan here. Saw her in Manchester earlier this year - Holy crap shes aweeeesome.

I highly doubt she will have a single out in January but we can wish haha. Shes said that shes already been at the piano writing some new stuff which is a bit more serious/reflective I think. I can't find at the interview though.

I dunno if we will get an album next year... I think it will hbe 2010.

I've just bumped Avril Lavigne *blushes*

I saw her at the O2 earlier this year too, and at Wembley before that. Admittedly she doesn't always come over brilliantly in interviews, but she put on really good shows and was perfectly sweet and appreciative of the great crowd response she got.

Plus, up close she's absolutely adorable.
