People seem not to be able to put themselves in the possition of Spencer and PJ in facing the disappointment of another week in the poor side and forgive them what was after all a fairly brief outburst. PJ in particular made reference to the fact that he knew he was acting childishly but felt pushed beyond endurance, and Spencer really didn't seem to be that unpleasant directly to anyone as he choose to express his feelings of frustration to others instead.
On the other hand, PJ has shown himself to be a bully in my eyes much earlier with his psychological bullying of Jade late one night trying to get Adele's secret out of her. In how he's been with Jade, he's tried to tell her so many times that he's a cad and a bounder and she shouldn't see anything in the house as serious.
Spencer and his smells - he's been stuck wearing the same clothes for over a week because of the circumstances, he's showered often, and doesn't seem to do much different than the rest in terms of personal grooming, and yet he's the butt of constant snipes (from Alex in particular) about his hygine...is it any wonder that he snipes back about something Alex is sensitive about in his noteable lack of masculinity?
Alex has shown himself unwilling to make a sacrifice himself for the greater good of the group by opting to live on the rich side himself and he's proved to be a coward in not fronting PJ and Spencer with his true reasons for not choosing them for the rich side.
PJ knows he should have contained his feelings better, and he's tried hard to appologise for it which shows someone willing to work on personal relationships (at least in the house) - rather than Alex turning his back on everyone in week 2 because it was too hard.
Spencer had a brief outburst which was mostly because of the prospect of another week without smokes - and anyone who's quit smoking will understand that!
Adele has since spent the whole time trying to make personal ground by adding oil to troubled waters, and it looks like it's working too. Anyone who wasn't in there to try and win and who was interested in really getting on with people and having a nice atmosphere in the house would have been trying to mediate between the two sides instead as some of the others have.
Jade just loves the drama and muck raking so it's no surprise that she runs from one side to the other with "you'll never guess what they just said about you..." comments, but I find it anoying that she then gets angry when found out for having distorted what in this case PJ had said...if only by change of emphasis rather than wording.
Overall, given the extreme nature of what the housemates are going through, is it any wonder that they're pushed into the odd outburst? Hardly reason to hate someone is it? Surely the constant subtle digging by Adele is much worse as it's not done in the heat of the moment but seems to be pre-meditated?
And I fail to understand how Alex is suddenly a hero just because he's anoyed someone else? Yes, he was doing well on the poor side, but his decisions and actions seem to show a distinct lack of backbone to me making him weaker in my eyes.
