I've been in First Boston, next to Canary Wharf, for a days visit. It was cool. The restaurant was like a motorway service station, with like lots of franchise outlets. Not Burger King, but individuals who were selling Chinese, Indian or Italian food. It was HUGE and the food was great. Some of the dealers thought they were like Gods. I didn't really like their attitudes. Many dealers were sittiing at desks with surround screens. Like three screens joined together but the outer screens were wrapped around the user.

Traders are such sweethearts, so easy to wind up. Also very easy to extract free drinks from.

The Salomon's mob paid a small fortune to have a screen like the one in the BB lounge installed so they could watch the footie at their desks.

I think his background and education would lend itself to any of the bulge brakets.

There used to be a sizeable Jewish diaspora in Arabic countries.

Also, you can't necessarily make a conclusion between someone's birthplace and their cultural heritage.

Trust me on this one, elliottm,. I lived & worked there for half my life & there aren't any Jews there. I also had 3 kids whilst there & they wouldn't claim to be Kuwaiti! The Jewish communities tended to be in Lebanon, Egypt & other Med. countries - not the Gulf.

yep, certainly agree wrt Lebanon and Egypt. I have learnt more wrt Gulf. Thought some had migrated from there too.
