They started to show it at 23:20 and then cut it off: so that stuff about the watershed was clearly rubbish.
”

Yeh, but was that the repeat of BBLB from E4? If so, then obviously it'll be cut because it originally went out before the watershed, and a recording of the original output would be just retransmitted for the C4 showing.

I don't often post on here, but I just had to come on and say how constantly suprised I am at the complete lack of common sense displayed on the BB forum. Channel 4 can't show swearing before 9pm. Deal with it. The sound dips a lot - there are 10 housemates in there all vying for attention, and constantly swearing. Deal with it. If it worries you so much, fill in the blanks with your own foul language.

I was watching BB on E4 the other afternoon and someone quite plainly said the 'F' word. The 'B' word can quite often be heard during the day too, Mr R&J was kind of prone to the odd curse or two and that was in the morning

Ohh yes probably it was.

I'm still confiused about why they show something at 7-odd pm, when they must expect some swearing, if they're only going to cut it completely, at the slightest FECKING hint of a swearword. Are the BB producers really morons?

I love the way the Dermot said the show "isn't just pants, its socks "etc I like him.

I'm not sure if oddboy actually understands the point either: it's not that JUST swearwords are deleted, but that whole segments of SOUND are deleted. We can't fill in WHOLE CONVERSATIONS Mr oddboy.

It's not that funny: they'll have licence conditions to comply with.
What is funny is that people might complain, and they can/do complain about ANYTHING, and then the ITC would uphold or reject the complaint.

Correct - me old sozzled cleric. Why don't they give them strikes for persistent foul mouthing? That would calm it down - mind you one or two of them would be rendered speechless.

Stand by for Kate the Bike and Sophie Always Backedher to home in on Timmy Mallet. Should liven things up.

GOOD CHOICE BB

PS Eire were ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly: it would be just as easy to control language from within the house, rather than from outside.

I look forward to some interesting powerplays between spencer and Tim. hee hee.

Well, clearly the United Kingdom has still not made progress since Queen Victoria was reigning.
Sad, so many people have such a problem with words.
I realise its still meant as 'average Tv' though. So, its still in the realms of family tv - which really, it should NOT be.

At least there are other BB's, ones where they really are 'viewable'.

i don't know if it’s just swearing they are censoring, i remember once they were talking about the 11th September and C4 cut that, they also seem to cut anything like personal information like the housemates family members names or sensitive personal information about someone they know. That may be because that person they might be talking about hasn't agreed to have their personal information broadcast on national TV, and might be able to sue C4 for breach of privacy.

I must admit it’s very annoying, last night Spencer and Kate were having a conversation in the garden quite late about 2am or something and they cut the entire conversation for about 30 minutes or more.

What pisses me off most is the sound affects they play like birds singing or a planes/train sounds.

They must thing we're thick

Does anyone know if BB is censored at all in other countries?

I was watching that last night - it seems to happen most nights, they just cut the sound off for no reason. Sometimes the sound is on on the other feed and you can hear them talking and they are saying nothing out of the ordinary. My theory is that whoever is responsible for cutting the sound goes on a break, either that or they forget it's muted. Whatever it is, I think it's inexcusable if you're actually paying for the service.

There's no such thing as "privacy" in law, I assume you mean that they maybe identifying individuals, and that would be fine, but as you imply, it's hard to imagine that they're sitting there reeling of someones, name address telephone number etc for 30 mins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is NO LOGIC CHANNEL 4. MAD.

That's the most reasonable explanation: incompetent sound staff (or whatever they'd be called)

I was watching the interactive feed on E4, the pictures were almost identical, so the sound would be identical, the sound was cut on 1, so I switched to 2, i heard no swearing, trademarks, anything that would need censoring
Fudge

yes, the total lack of anything objectionable on the sound from one feed that would be identical to the sound on the other feed which is muted (same group, just different camera angle), makes me think that it isn't censorship, it's incompetence a lot of the time.

I was watching the other night and they had Sophie and Lee sitting on one bed together obviously talking, but all you could hear was someone snoring, I presumed from the other feed. It had the right effect on me and I switched off to go and listen to real live snoring in my own room.
