I am about to go and buy my first dvd player. Is there any reasonable priced multi regional players I can buy that do not require to be hacked or do they all require this?

Decent Hackable Budget Player
The player of choice at the moment for a reasonably priced, remote hackable machine has to be the Wharfedale DVD750S from Tescos. Easily made multi-region using a simple hack on the remote, this player is one of the best you can get for under £200.
The important thing here though is that you get a model with the 'S' after the 750 as this adds DTS decoding, a much higher rate of disc compatibility and MP3 playback. For around £180, you can't go wrong. |

If you are quick, QXL are auctioning off Encore DV-450 units at £149. The auction closed on 28/09/00.
It's a Multi-Region unit, complete with Built-in Dolby Digital Decoder (AC-3) for 5.1. Take a look at http://www.qxl.com/cgi-bin/qxl.filer...11901/_9536056 |
