Alex has just had a chat with PJ, explaining his reasons for choosing the three girls and clearing the air. I didn't hear everything he said, but in the end, they shook hands. I don't expect that PJ likes him, but still, Alex made the effort.

What's impressive is that he waited until AFTER the nominations because he said he didn't want to influence PJ's vote.

Good on you, Alex. You've come a long way since those first couple of weeks!

Did he give the same explanation that he gave to the girls

"They're a couple of dirty bastards and I dont want em in here"

THAT would be the honourable thing to do

Does he owe them something then?

To start with i thought good on you alex .... then , i thought maybe just maybe he thinks he will be nominated and we are all looking in at him so is he trying to look good to us !!

Maybe i will give him the benifit of the doubt and say well done Alex !!

It could be that he's taken a leaf out of Jonny's book and realised that you can confront your demons - even if they're balding self-obsessed f**kwits.

I was well impressed with Alex then as well. He could have let things fester on, but he chose to clear the air with PJ. It was equally impressive that he waited till nominations had been completed. He could have gone down the route that Jonny adopted, of creeping prior to nominations, but he didn't.

In the end, he didn't owe either PJ or Spenny a straight explaination. He won at the task fair and square, and it was entirely up to him who he took with him. Had he lost the task, I doubt he would have wined like a spoilt brat. He'd have just got on with it like he did last week.

I'd take it from this, that Alex hasn't voted for PJ.

You sure you're not confusing Alex and PJ? I recall last week it was PJ doing the moaning and Alex getting on with things, trying to get people to eat etc... I don't think I've seen much moaning from Alex since 'weegate'.

Alex is just fab, he's polite, charming and helpful what more could you want. With him you get what you see, what everybody calls whinging is just him telling people what he thinks. At least if he dosen't like somebody he'll say it to their face and it must have taken real guts to stand up or himself during the 'weegate' drama. I certainly wouldn't want anybody to pee in my shower and hope that I would stand up for myself with everybody else against me. Alex to win!!!!!

Since then, we've had (from memory):

- moaning to Jade about putting sugar in the porridge (reducing her to tears)
- the prima donna incident with the washing
- moaning that he can only really talk to Adele now that Sandy's gone...surely that's a result of him making himself so unpopular with the group while Sandy with in the house
- he's moaning during the last week has still been bad enough for Spencer to comment while folding the washing: "Blimey...what's wrong with Alex? He didn't try and interfere or tell us that we're doing something wrong..."

Add in his glee at putting Spencer and PJ through another week in the house and it's easy to see why he's so unpopular in the house - who exactly gets on with him in there? Maybe Adele...to his face.

Are you saying that Alex has the monopoly on moaning? I don't think so. Yes he did rant the first week, but I think he had some good points and was just trying to get certain things straight. I didn't hear anyone saying "but we like sitting in someone elses wee on the toilet seat". Unfortunately the hm's who agreed with him chose to keep their mouths shut and let him take all the crap (so to speak).

He certainly doesn't have the monopoly on moaning but certainly enjoys have a good moan and is not particularly pleasant with it.

I guess that what I'm saying is that there are ways of discussing problems that occur within the house that allow individuals to clearly express their point of view without coming across in the way that he does.

why didn't alex chose the poor side and take pj,spencer and jonny with him? that would of been a decent thing to do !!

I think you're spot on there, james - that would have been the decent thing to do. Precisely why he didn't do it, I suspect.

probably becuase they have been saying he is a "woman" and saying that he "sucks c**k"... if i was him i wouldnt be inclined to give them to much luxury either!

I think Alex is just basically fick. Adele asked him if he had considered staying on the poor side and he just looked at her as if to say "what a mad thing to suggest". So he wasnt being at all tactical in his choice.

I think his choice was all part of his arrogance - he's faced a public vote and won (he doesn't know by how little) and believes that he's popular. As a result, I suspect that he's prepared to go up for eviction against anyone else and isn't playing the game particularly tactically.

Its not like they have to live in there forever and I doubt he'll be friends with Spencer and PJ when he leaves. So why shouldnt he choose luxury? He might as well enjoy his time, as he never knows when he might go

fick or thick? Now I wonder who is thick..........

I can understand to a degree about PJ and Spencer but why the hell would he take Jade with him??? WHY???
bazza9
17-06-2002
He's taken Jade with because he believes that he can 'control' her - she's a safer bet than any of the others. I think he's chosen Sophie for the same reason - Adele was obviously picked as the only one that he actually gets on with.

He was unaware that Jade did not have an eviction vote this week, and he prefered to have girls, cos' they are cleaner than boys!, if he had been aware of jades position of not having an eviction vote, I think Kate would have been a rich HM this week.

The problem with Alex's hygine huff was not what it was about, or what he wanted people to do, but how he did it. Instead of saying "look, we have to live together and I'd really rather not be thinking of you lot weeing in the shower when I'm in there, so couldn't you just hang on or go before you go in there?"...when people then teased him or whatever he needed to not get angry (despite staying polite it was obvious he was angry) and instead have a rational argument to deflate people making fun...something like "you do know that the u-bend on a shower isn't really designed to deal with effluent" or "Geesh, imagine if we all did that, the place would stink"...someting, anything rather than just seeming to freak out over the idea.

All through, it's not that anything Alex has raised as an issue has been wrong, but time after time he fails to think how his words will impact the other person and fails to therefore choose his words sensitively...for someone who is very sensitive himself this doesn't sit well with others, and he's old enough to realise that.
