K9 could be the mechanism for SJS to recognise the doctor. I agree he didn't help move the story on, but he was there for the same reason that Captain Jack was in the latest series, to kill the baddies...

The Dalek was given a new lease of life so, you never know, they make make K9 purely CGI or something to beef it up a bit.

That would be quite good. SJS doesn't recognise David Tennant's Doctor, but K9 says "ma-ster" when he sees him.

I think that is a distinct possibility

Tut tut

Perhaps I could have worded that post a bit better.

The 'rusty old mutt' I was referring to was of course K9

K9 altogether - an emphatic no.

Seriously, the most annoying thing the BBC have ever come up with.

1977-1981 to be exact. He was just a little before my time. Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy were the Doctors that I remember.

Does anyone know why David Brierly was the voice of K9 in 1979? In checking the history of the metal mutt, on the IMDB cast list K9 is voiced by Leeson most of the time except 1979. Wonder what happened?
