He' s an ordinary guy with a good sense of humour (very dry), apparently attractive to "many" girls, down-to-earth, genuine, evidently sensitive/understanding/caring (when it gets down to it - as tonight), is "himself" & does his own thing (come what may), can speak his mind, can joke, can take a joke, can live with other's failings (unlike Alex), can integrate when he wants and can spend time alone without "needing" others when he wants, can mix on a one-to-one (as even with Sandy - difficult as that may have been for most) or in a multitude (without necessarily having to be the centre of attention), doesn't think he's god's gift to women (like some of them), is a bit (no a lot) of a tease, speaks his mind (but not as to be insensitive), doesn't need to be a "rocket scientist" to fulfill his desires in life, doesn't pretend to be perfect (or anything near to it), doesn't try to change his character to benefit his rating in the show, isn't deceitful, IS VERY PLAYFUL ......... are we starting to give some reasons for why he is the "People's Favourite" or what!
HE IS THE JACK DEE OF BIG BROTHER 3. ”
And he manages to squeeze all this into 10 minutes of action a day which I suppose reinforces the fact he is a typical man
I am 'pro-Alex' but that doesn't make me anti-Spencer I am basing my vote purely on the following:
1 Whilst Spencer is funny these are limited to too short a times as he is highly underactive in the house and his humour is good and dry when he tries but his greatest mark against him is not trying. This means too often his humour descends into basic smut which is as tedious as hell.
2 Spencer leaving would change the dynamics of the house greatly because of the relationships he has formed with Kate and PJ which will have the knock on effect of restructing relationships in the house, a bit like a domino effect; this will be v.interesting to watch but the same will not happen if Alex goes
3 As Paul writes above Spencer does things when he wants, unfortunately this doesn't happen very often which makes him boring to watch. Spencer is the sort of person who needs stimulus to be iteresting (ciggies and alcohol); we need people in the house who can create stimuli.
4 He's lacking motivation on one of two counts, he's either bored witless or finding it too damn easy so he has nothing too prove - once again boring television. We need people in the house who are confronting issues such as having to mix with people they don't/do like, facing their prejudices etc
5 It is a fallacy to believe that Spencer on the rich side would be any different than Spencer on the poor side. Far from it we would simply see a more alochol fuelled Spencer which in turns leads him to being more lethargic
6 He isn't showing that he is getting anything out of the experience.
