in week 10-16th sept ruby goes back to boarding school, this is so stupid, why do they get rid of a good character?

Where did you here this?

It would be unrealistic if Ruby dropped out of school after getting such good grades. She isn't exactly corner shop material like Stacy. She would also almost certainly go to university.

I suppose they could send her to the local school, but unlikely Johnny would allow it.

I hope you're not kidding.

And let it be for good this time eh!

Oh I'm jealous of Ruby because she got 5 A*s, 4 As and 1 B in her GCSEs, BITCH!!

She can't be gone for long. According to today's script excerpt from the webcam (http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/back...q_webcam.shtml) she's back and badder then ever. I suspect she gets chucked out of school for some reason but only time will tell.

lol i no, its pretty unbelievable as she had so much 2 deal with in the pass year, fire burnt her house down killing her mother and sister, jonny allen as a dad, the whole tina thing, running away from school for like 3 months and needs pills for depression and she still gets A*'s??!!

Since Ruby *seems* to be popular, they'll probably invent some way to make her stay. It wouldn't be too unrealistic.

It's happened before in soaps with the parents/guardians leavng and the child remaining (Corrie's Craig, Hollyoaks' Norman, Zara)

She's not popular with me - but I agree she seems to have a fan base.

Maybe they'll get her nan to come and live in Walford, so she can stay on after Johnny leaves. They could certainly do with some new characters so it wouldn't be a bad option.

What is this, her second/third time leaving? She's going to overtake Sharon in the random departures/returns department if she continues like this.

Surely it is realistic at least. Don't kids who go to boarding/private schools tend to return when the term resumes ?

I think Ruby is a great character and love the interaction with Stacey. It has actually made Stacey likeable.

Yeah, I suppose that is right but the writers should write her into the show more permamnetly as she is a good character with potential. I didn't like her at first but I think she could become an excellent asset to the show alongside Stacey if she was onscreen a bit more.

So, if Ruby left (last time, not in the future) to go back to school to finish her GCSEs, why did she come back the day before her results. Surely she would have come back after the exams?

Where has she been since the end of term?

She was doing her exams in real life that is why we have not seen her on television sooner. Someone can probably explain it better than me.

That would be interesting if the actress that plays Ruby did her GCSE's at the same time. I wonder what results she got. As someone else pointed out mostly A's given the year Ruby has had is amazing. The actress only has to role up to the set for a bit of acting everyday.

Come on Eastenders put your money where your storylines are; What were the actresses results?

By the way, have you all seen Fantasy Soap Opera . It looks great!

Yes, she was doing her exams in real life. I know this is why we haven't seen her back on screen, given that the episodes broadcast now would have been filmed a couple of months ago.

However, that doesn't explain the reasons for the character not being there. My question was, in the show, what explanation have they given for her absense between the end of the school term and now?
