Wasnt it really good, bit of everything- Drama, comedy and romance. There comedy was on form as well and the Justin storyline shows the best drama ive seen in a while.

Whats happened to Hollyoaks, its had a week full of good episodes and good written scripts for a change.

Its been the best soap for me this week, although find Home and away/ Emmerdale are very consistent.

If Hollyoaks stayed this consistent it will start gaining viewers.

I also though the Nancy/Steph double act was good tonight, balance of strorylines from cast members of varied age ranges also worked.

Best of all the Ben/Lisa saga barely got a mention Ben is a much better character when he's away from Lisa. Loved the speech he gave.

Thought the vicar telling Frankie her marriage wasn't valid was hilarious. I hope the writers don't split Jack and Frankie up. Mr and Mr C used to be my favourite "oldie" couple, but Jack and Frankie are up there too. I think the writers did well to match these two up.

Liked the way Steph and Nancy were daggers drawn and then in the next scene gossiping like old pals Pal Nancy up with Steph instead of the abysmal Nicole.

Liked how they had the happy occassion with the wedding, balanced with the sad stuff with Justin. My only complaint is that policeman who charged Justin is AWFUL, where did they drag him up from? Judging by the way he delivers his lines he went to the same school of acting as the girl who plays Nicole.

Ok tonight's episode was basically about the wedding reception and there was more on the Justin/Ali/Macki storyline.

- Ben gave his best man speech he talked about friendship and mentioned Dan, saying "If he was here today he would have been heckling, unless he was stood up here in which case he wouldn't because ..... you can't heckle yourself" They had a toast to absent friends. Ben said what good friends Jake and Becca were and how they were made for each other and how when something is right you know it in your heart etc.

- The vicar was fussing around Frankie, saying she needed to rest etc. Frankie admitted she wasn't really dying and was in perfect health. She blamed Craig for misleading the vicar The vicar told her the only reason the church agreed to the double wedding was because of the circumstances and since she wasn't really dying he would have to make phone calls to see if the marriage was still valid. Frankie got in a flap and as the vicar walked away he smiled to himself. Later he was talking to Jack and told him what had happened and how he had told Frankie the marriage wasn't valid (it is valid though ) Jack decided to wind Frankie up and told her the vicar had told her everything and they would have to hold off consumating the marriage until they knew, which was a shame because he had booked them into a posh hotel. Frankie got in a flap again, blaming Craig. Jack eventually told her the truth and it was all a wind up and they laughed about it.

- Steph and Nancy were trying to score points off each other at the reception critisizing each other's clothes etc. Nancy was drinking a glass of wine and Steph said Nancy shouldn't be drinking as she was "only 12" Nancy called Steph "Prunella" (after the laxative advert she did) and they kept flinging insults until Nancy called Steph a "Chav" to which an open mouthed Steph took much offence

The rest of the episode was about.....

- Darlene blurted out the reason she was angry with Richard was because he had been having an affair. Liz didn't believe her and said she was lying.

- Justin went to the hospital to try and get the knife back. When he got there he found the toilets had been taped off by the police. He ran out of the hospital only to run straight into the police. (and that crap copper) He was took to the station and interviewed. He dropped himself in it by mentioning the knife was in the toilet cistern (which the police hadn't told him). He was then charged with Macki's murder.

- Ben showed Debbie a photo Emma had sent him of Arthur. He said how much he missed him and told Debbie that Emma had included a note to say that the following day they would be moving. Ben said that he knew what Emma was really saying was that this was Ben's last chance to be a part of his son's life. He then decided to take this last chance and hastily packed a bag to go to Emma's. He left a message on Lisa's voicemail telling her he had gone away to see Emma for a few days. Later Lisa went to Ben's flat (she hadn't heard the message) and got into another strop because he wasn't there.

Think that's about it

OMG we could start a whole FREE THE HOLLYOAKS ONE campaign, like when Matthew Rose was in prison in EE.Saying that though does Justin get sent to prison? It's not that long since Dan Hunter was wrongly imprisoned, it would be silly of them to more or less repeat the storyline again.

Had to laugh where Becca admitted her middle name was because she was named after Margaret Thatcher and Ben nearly choked on his drink. This is the sort of Ben who's entertaining, not the Ben who is forever begging forgiveness from Lisa.

does anyone here think becca and ben would have worked? personally i think not, because they are more entertaining and funny as friends... but i really am finding ben and lisa as a couple to be as dull as dishwater (i will drive an icicle through my eyeball if i see lisa simper at beeeeeennnnnn once more). i just can't see any chemistry there personally, whereas becca and ben do have a really good on-screen spark.

I've loved Hollyoakes over the past few weeks after a few months of only dipping in and out. If they keep going like this (and don't craw out the Justin thing like they did with Dan) they should get back on form.

I agree though Chris Fountain needs a Soap Award.

So why bother posting in a Hollyoaks thread if you don't like it? Just looked at your posting history..... you really are an empty vessel (and that's putting it politely.)

I like Hollyoaks just the way it is. The whole Connor/Nicole thing is pretty ridiculous, I think the writers are trying to pair everyone off!
