And as for the rest of you taking the moral standpoint wrt postings I find your attack of Mel here far more severe then her attack of Adele.

The fact is that most of you who have responded in this manner are Adele fans. Now stop throwing your weight around and have enough respect to let others express their opinion however much you don't like it.
”

We're all expressing our opinions and the reason I react strongly to MelBB1's is the nastiness of her tone.
As for throwing our weight about I think Mel gives as good as she gets !
No one has yet accused MelBB1 of 'not being a real woman' or anything half as abusive as her remarks towards Alex /Adelle/Jade in her posts. Have any of us called anyone else ' an ugly lesbian' , accused someone of having ' minging artificial hair' or both stated that the evictionof Alison was 'due to racism' then followed up later by saying Adelle 'wouldn't be evicted as its not PC' . The arguments are contradictory and thats why I, for one, have responded.
I wouldn't report her posts unless they went against the T & C's , which I don't think they have.

Having said all that I do think maybe this thread should close as it is getting too personalised and raising tempers when we should all be debating - in a calmer way - the pros and cons of different HM's.

I knew Adele a few years ago, because I was her lab demonstrator when she was in her second year at University.

She was chunkier then, I'd guess probably about a size 12 or maybe even a 14. It was a bit of a shock to see just how much weight she'd lost when she popped up on TV on the first night of BB.
My first thought was - bloody hell! Adele! And then.. blimey, you've lost weight.

She must have done a hell of a lot of hard work down the gym to look the way she does now, so it's hardly surprisingly that a few weeks of sitting around eating with little exercise has started to take its toll. She's still pretty skinny IMO. I'd love to be as 'fat' as she is

Plums, I agree about calmer discussion but I think what the media says about some of the housemates is far worse. I really do think that some are being over-sensitive here and accusing someone of 'hating' is quite a strong term. We all know that tone can be misinterpreted on a forum and there seems little point in getting wound up about seemingly harmless comments.

a reminder

definition of 'fat' = those with a bmi higher than 25
healthy = bmi between 19-25
underweight = bmi less than 19

adele is fit, toned and cant have a bmi higher that 21
sophie looks underweight

gods sake, what a question. alison was 'fat', adele is far from 'fat'

Actually the BMI can be higher for body builders because of the extra muscle weight. She's definitley not fat, it's just a snipe. I would put her BMI around the 25 mark because of the muscles.

What is BMI?
TonyH
19-06-2002
BMI = body mass index

Weight in Kilograms divided by (Height in Metres, Squared).

e.g. Sarah Michelle Gellar
Height 1.6m, Weight 44Kg, bmi = 44/(1.6*1.6) = 17

Who the hell made you Board Monitor??

FYI I have reported your posts to the moderators. Here is what I wrote.
------
This guy seems to be jumping down peoples throats and stifling freedom of speech. He has made himself self appointed board monitor and appears to be taking issue over opinions which are allowed to be expressed.
------
There is nothing legal or in the rules about someone making observations on the size of a forehead or someones weight. I suggest you lighten up a little as you haven't a leg to stand on here.
”

Nobody made me board monitor, but they do ask us to report posts/threads that are either 'trouble' or offensive.

You quite obviously did not read my posts properly as I was not attacking MelBB1 for having opinions. What I objected to was her representation of opinion as 'fact'. See plums' post above regarding some of the things Mel has said that have got her in trouble. There's nothing wrong with having an opinion, but representing it as fact (eg "there's no such thing as too thin") is not on.

FWIW (again I don't see why I should have to justify myself) I reported the thread simply because it seemed to be heading towards a 'she's fat' 'no she's not' type thing.

I take it you have heard of anorexia nervosa and bulimia.

Are they Italian football players by any chance?

No, silly. They're parts of Russia. Jade told me.

this is all getting a bit too close to the bone. Why does people's size matter? Most of the posts on this thread seem to be very nasty and completely pointless.

Yes it's official. Adele is a mess! Her short stocky frame and soft fat belly make her look like a pot-bellied pig! Also with her massive forehaed she looks like a man with fake hair added for effect. she is sooooo unfeminine. Kate has the best body and looks followed by Sophie. strange it is the ugliest and fattest girls that are doing all the scheming (Jade and Adele). Jade also goes on about people being too thin. Ha! No such thing. You can never be too rich or too thin as they say. Adele and Jade are becoming an eyesore. They are revolting to look at and so jealous of those with better looks like Kate and Sophie. Alex out (please God) followed by Adele then Jade. ”

Lol! Don't mince words, MelBB1; say what you mean!

Enough about her weight already!! Let's get down to the important points!!

Was she really that scheming and conniving when you knew her at uni? What is she really like?

I'm only really posting on this thread to see if I can end up with my name listed as last poster on all the top 5 threads...but while I'm hear, I find it sad that people can spend so much time debating the appearance of the housemates. Does it matter that someone put on a few pounds in weight, or lost a few? Does it make them a bad person? Does it betray a very shallow view of those making the comments?

...you decide...

Well I hope you are as keen to report the Kate is this and Kate is that posts. I think MelBB1 got it right with it's jealousy.
