After reading a stupid number of threads about who i should vote for out of spencer and alex, it has occured to me that everyone who is pro-spencer, fancies him.

Is there anyone out there with anything good to say about spence, who is prepared to say they don't fancy him.

I did like him & found him funny and no, I didn't fancy him - I'm not a cradle snatcher! but I now his attempts to be a laddish anti-hero pathetic & unamusing! The Rev. Father Jack is far more amusing.
My daughter said all along that he was her type but has now changed her mind so drastically that she has fled the country to escape her shame!

I don't like Spencer and don't fancy him. The girlies at home who fancy him would probably change their mind if they had to live with the smell.

Married, 3 children, totally het.

Nope - I see nothing that takes my fancy there.

But yes, Spencer is a genuinely decent bloke - he says what he thinks and does his own thing, without the constant moaning or deceit of some of the others. As for all the posts that suggest Spencer's putting on a mask - where's the evidence. Oh, I see you're all psychology experts.

Spencer - He's the playful Jack Dee of Big Brother 3.

Displayed for all to see - Alex is a spoilt wuss - who cries when things don't go his way or to his liking.

I think Spencer's okay (well up until Saturday, now I'm not so sure), but PLEASE don't compare him to the mega-god of humour that is Jack Dee. You'll lose all credibility.

Jack
(is a psychology expert and knows Spencer is NOT putting on a mask)

Actually I was at school with Spence and still bump into him for the odd beer or two. (The Ivo in St Ives). I don't fancy him, but do hope he wins BB.

He really is one of the most genuine blokes you could ever meet. He did ok at school as he was fairly bright and never really bothered to follow the crowd just to be cool.

He really is as laid back as he appears - why should he get a conventional 9-5 job when he enjoys what he does? I'd love to work in a ski shop with a good bunch of lads in the winter and work outside punting on the Cam all summer. He knows there's plenty of time left before he has to settle down into a more conventional lifestyle.

Sorry for the lenght of this - it just winds me up to read so much judgemental stuff from people with no apparent evidence to back it up. BB is not real - don't take it all so seriously!!

I think he's ok. One of the best of a bad bunch I'd say.

Na! I'm only comparing him to the BB version of JD.

After all BB gave us a chance to see the "human" and playful side of JD as opposed to the mega-star of stand-up comedy we all know and love (well most of us).

I don't think it would be the greatest of masks for Spencer to choose, but that's why I like him because he's just a genuine, down-to-earth basic person who is doing what we should all do - his own thing.

Remember also - the "level playing field" is out the window now, so you've got to take into account the cards they've been dealt.

Alex would be on his knees by now if he'd gone a second week on the poor side, especially if he'd been with Spencer & PJ again - LOL!

BB is VERY real!
If you know Spencer, try telling him that what he experienced was "not real" and see how he reacts.

There are lots of guys around all the Forums and newsgroups who like and fancy Kate. Why is is not okay for Spencer to be liked and fancied?

I happen to like Spencer because I've enjoyed the way he has used his brain to quietly get on with playing the game and BTW doing so withou slagging off every one of the other HM's, and also to wind the BB Producers up who frankly deserve everything they get.

There are lots of people who find Alex attractive and they say so but I don't see them being constantly criticised for 'only liking him because they fancy him'.

Neither am I a teenager who also get a hard time here which IMHO is patronising.

Jack,

To Spencer it'll be real - it's just not real to the rest of us!

We don't know who these people are, what they're thinking, what their gameplans are or why they're even there. To us it isn't real - it's just a kind of voyeurism/escapism/entertainment, call it what you will.

There's certainly no way we should be taking it so seriously. Quite frankly, some of the vitriol that is being expressed in these forums is quite astonishing.

Entertianment - yes, reality, I don't think so.

BB exists for one reason only - viewing figures = advertising revenue/premium phone charges = profits for the endemol/C4.

And I suppose giving him £70,000 to play with is going to hurry him along down the path towards maturity?

It's real for what it is - 12 folk in a house, etc. etc.

It's an experiment. It's intriguing.

I can't understand anyone who just watches it for "entertainment" value. What's entertaining about it if you think it's not real - you may as well watch the soaps.

I reckon you see peoples true characteristics more clearly than ever in these type of circumstances - they simply can't hide them ....... or can they?

TOTALLY AGREE mate.
They caNNOT hide their characters. At work I mentioned BB to someone, and their complaint (ie reason for not liking it) was there wasn't enough SHAGGING. Missing the wholel fecking point entirely in my NOT humble opinion.

It is v interesting as a study of interpersonal relationships, which is why I wish they'd remove "interesting" gimmicks, such as the wall, which seem to appeal to the masses

You seem to have got it into he right perspective (at least from the message I'm responding to), so I'm glad I'm not the only one. Are you watching "Lads Army"? Mega interesting too.

cheers

Jack
ps: interesting name: care to share its meaning????

Fancy Spencer? ........I think I'm in love!!
He admits he hates it on the poor side, tells it like it is ..unlike the other 2 out-of-control-freaks, Alex/Adele. He's funny (although I can appreciate not everyone gets his humour)

Watching him on TV this evening I laughed till I stopped
He shows you can play the game without trying to influence people, or, being 2 faced.

Keep Spencer in the house.....you know it makes sense

Pretty shallow really FJ.

It's a Pop Idol hang-up - I joined "the" forum in Feb this year and rest is fairly obvious.

I kept the name because I got fed up of being rejected with simpler things and, low & behold no-one seems to use this one.

Warned you about my credibility.

I've not seen the prog you mention but I'll be checking it out now.

Er, I don't know anything about "pop idol" (I should be a high court judge, I'm so out of touch!)

If you are as interested in how people act in situations, then you will defintiely like Lads army: you shouldn'r necessarily be put off by the subject matter (ie lads "pretending" to be people doing national service) - as a study in people copiing in difficult circumstances it beats the shit out of the "poor side"

Thanks for that injection of reality !!! And I say that as someone who stupidly gets wound up about BB and has slagged off your mate............
As I used to live in Cambridge I can imagine punting on the Cam would be a very good job in the summer and no doubt tips can be generous and goodlooking women in your punt every so often.
In real life I'd probably like Spencer and dislike Alex (and his Mockney accent ).

Yep, the poor side IS a "poor" excuse for hardship conditions.

But, they do have to sit and watch the others having it easy, whilst competing in the same "game".

This is no game I hear you scream - totally agree. This is as real as it gets.

I also agree - "get rid of the bars" they're spoiling the interaction and messing up stuff like Alex HAVING to deal with the issues he so detests facing.

And, sad as I have to admit, I wish Alex & Spencer were both in it to the end because between them they create one of the most intriguing of all relationships for me.

Sad? Dunno, but I agree totally. I am quite pissed off that both alex and stink-boi (who are in my opinion the 2 most interesting poeple) are up for eviction - whoever goes will be a great loss from a "people watcher" POV. :'(

I agree - and it puts all the conspiracy theories about BB being scripted into the bin because no way would they want one out of the 2 most popular/unpopular HM's out so early on.
Mind you, it will certainly rack up the proceeds from the 'phone and text votes !
