Coronation Street 29/08/05
I thought they were 2 good episodes. The nit storyline was done very well and was a bit of fun but very funny. The rest was good.

Two good episodes after overdosing on the Battersby clan on Sunday. I liked it all apart from the Jamie and Leanne bits, even though I think that Jamie is a likeable character.
I like the gap between the two episodes. It gave me the chance to take the dog for a walk before it got dark.

I thought the confrontations between Sally and Janice were absolutely hilarious! Sally had some really fabulous lines

I thought the first ep was very disappointing. Jonathan Harvey, what happened?? he's usually one of my favourite writers.
However he did have sh*t to work with. Claire and the Red Rec. Give me f*ing strength. The more I see of Claire the more I thoroughly dislike her and think she is a totally misconceived character as well as a very poor actor. Simon G delivered his lines in the first ep as though he couldn't be @rsed, and he is usually my favourite character. And nits. Well the Websters were funny but aside from that....zzzzzz. And the twinz. I don't usually mind them, but they are giving them too many silly 'tics' - the phobias etc, and the big one was doing too much eye-rolling. Tedious. However the second ep was much better. I liked the scenes at the Platts, and Eileen was lovely. Tracy was vomit-inducing but no change there. I really like the pairing of Kelly and Craig thingy's character, I think they work so well together. Janice's hair ... I don't know what to make of this storyline. Why?? |

I thought both episodes were poor tonight, only Eileen and Sophie came over well, Janice getting her hair shaved and the Clare storylines were a total waste of time, very disappointed as there were signs of improvement lately

I enjoyed both episodes tonight. Light episodes but good for a Bank Holiday.
The nits storyline was good and had some good comedy like Sally in the Rovers with Janice. I liked the scenes with Jamie, Leanne and his mum turning up. LOL at Deirdre's glasses. The stuff with Claire wasnt that bad. |

The stuff with Jessie and Joanne is always pointless but genuinely funny but it would be good in the right genre of programme i.e. comedy sitcom.
Still it was OK tonight I like Janice but I think they've wasted her in recent years and I hope they give her something good to do soon. |

Wait a sec, i'm confused at how you can go from coming into contact with someone with nits one moment, and then a few hours later have a full infestation of them crawling around your head and itching all the time? Also last i checked, nits weren't even that itchy in adults, it's only children who get extremely irritated by them. Corrie are concentrating on these cheap crappy comedic storylines too much, at the expense of realism.
Corrie, so boring tonight, first time i've watched it over the past few weeks too. But hm, i'm going to have to hate myself for actually laughing out loud at the Claire/Lloyd frog running over story. As poor and OTT as Claire was in that scene, it was still incredibly funny. |

Claire is the worst! Why they seem to be persuing a storyline with her defies sense. The writers don't know what to do with her so how 'bout they do NOTHING, wait six months and then do a dramatic storyline involving her and Ashley and not anything else 'comedic' please god help us all!!!!

For some reason I found most of last nights quite sureal, Clare getting practically evangelical about cleaning up the play area just struck me as a bit weird, I think it was the look in her eyes
The nits storyline did make me laugh, although how Janice had a full outbreak minutes after minimal contact I've no idea, it was worth it for shot of the Websters 'grooming' each other like a pack of chimps . The frog getting run over also made made be laugh First episode, surprisingly from Jonathan Harvey, quite poor and didn't work that well, second episode miles better.
