Eastenders Have that when push comes to shove their still the best as to corries' crappy comedy stories
- janice getting nits off sophie
- gail/eileen/phil triangle

while ee pulled off a great way for the body to get dug up "a stupid drunken mistake"...

EE'S NOT THAT GOOD, WE HAVE HAD ANOTHER OF THESE CORRIE V EE THREADS.
Some people actually prefer corrie like myself although i do watch ee and the only storyline ive liked in ee recently is the leos death which i though was good. Corrie still got more viewers.

Last week i saw better Holloaks episodes than that of Eastenders.
Also Emmerdale is one of the most consistent saops on tv.

have to say I don't think either Emmerdale or Hollyoaks get the recognition they deserve. They have both been brill this year. I wasn't comparing EE & Corrie overall above just last nights eposodes.

Emmerdale is top notch but I don't watch all six episodes because there's too many. I watch the 5 from Mon-Fri usually and miss Sundays which is normally their quietest.

Corrie is still a strong soap but its been off the boil since Karen left and EastEnders is slowly starting to improve but needs to get rid of Alfie fast!

EastEnders is improving fast and no one honest can lie about how Corrie has been getting worse and worse for months to what it was this time last year it is starting to look like an ill soap.

EastEnders needs to sort out this terrible love triangle with Alfie though apart from that it's a good programme to watch for me anyways.

The difference is that Corrie can do both.

They can carry off serious storylines with excellent acting and they can also provide light hearted releif.

As opposed to Eastenders, which makes you want to bury yourself under your cellar.

I will never watch that pile of rubbish ever again, where as I know that even when Corrie goes through slow patches, the next great stroyline is just around the corner.

Eastenders will never get back on form.

I agree.

Eastenders is dying, yet the heads of the show will not admit, that this is happening.

It's depressing, it's far-fetched, has bad acting and does not have anything going for it.

Corrie tries to balance it out, but has been a bit poor lately..yet Emma is the best of the big 3 with it's easy-going and quite humorous storylines.

EE is depending on the stupid Mitchell clan who are old hat, and are just basically 1960's East End villians in the year 2005....they are not hard, both of them are fat and bumbling, and the only acting Steve McFatten can do is go red in the face.

It's about time the Beeb put it out of its misery.

Emmerdale and Hollyoaks are really good, dont critic what you havent watched recently. Hollyoaks has that ee's/ brookside top form drama thing going on at the moment as well as having comedy which is actually funny unlike the corrie comedy, it has that neighours formula where ever episode feature drama, comedy and romance and really is working. There now making use of older characters too.

Last week Hollyoaks was at its best and outdid all the other soaps which it never normally does, this have changed and i hope it stays like this. You just have to look at the forum to see Hollyoaks is back better than has been for ages cand lots of posts are popping up about it.

Emmerdale has been so consistent although not something id watch regular but a soap like home and away keeps me tuned in as has good storylines as well as being consistent and then you never want to miss an episode which some soaps lack.

The worst thing about Eastenders is how the BBC relies on the cast to prop up other shows, if it's not sonia on Graham Norton then there's Windsor narrating money programmes.

You just can't escape them and although it's not their fault I still hate every single one of them and try to avoid them at all costs.

With it being the second most watched british soap I can't see it happening, can you?

What's insulting is the voiceover that introduces the show advertises it, and this is common when "Neighbours" is on.

Neighbours has a lot more going for it now than EE does...plus it's more real and fun to watch...not slash your wrists stuff...

Anyone who watches EE needs mental help.

I still think tuning out of habit is a factor that allows ee to hold its audience just like corrie which is still outrating ee.

People watch as there is no better alternative in the timeslots.

I know people who keep praising ee when there is still no change. I find personally EE is depressive but prehaps that why some people like it as its similar to there own lifes.

It not as if they watch as they want to see some good drama as there is plenty of good drama series's on the tv channels.

It's a wonder any of the people who watch it, don't land up depressed because that what it is.

It's a hazard, and I wish they'd hurry up and axe it.

My licence fee money is wasted on it. It's probably one of the biggest drains on the licence fee.

You are right.

I mean the acting in the show is abysmal. I mean some of them just shout their way through their lines or have a blank look. No-one has ever made it big outside the show.

Their wages are abysmal..and the show is just a pile of shit.

when you think of soaps being axed itv axed the original crossroads which was pulling in around 12 million and peaked at 18 million and never was out of the 10 ten watched shows. But they axed it as it couldnt go any further or get any better. That was on 6.30pm.

Also itv got rid of Home and away where was pulling in 5/6 million at between what ever slot is was on between 5/6pm. Which was pointless as was there most rated show in that slot ever same with crossroads.

But itv knew it had Emmerdale and Corrie and wanted those soaps fans it brough to the channel to stay around watching those 2.

Ee Going Up - Corrie Going Down
Not necessarily. Last night's EE was great, but Corrie has been consistently good for a long time.

EE has had one good episode. Let's wait to see if they can sustain the quality for several months before we get the Albert Square celebratory bunting out.
