Yeah, Sadie tricked Zoe into believing she wanted the land for a stable venture or something, but in fact wanted it for the housing development which Zoe was clearly against.

Zoe was a little bit disapproving of Sadie's stitching up of Charity if I remember correctly as well.

Yeah, but she somehow forgave her for that, saying it was exactly how she treated Kim, as a threat to the family. Only Charity wasn't really. A bit strange that Zoe would give Sadie the time of day...

Thanks. I wish i had kept with it instead of not watching it for quite a while, but i was watching too many soaps back then!
Is this land Sadie got off Zoe the stuff Jimmy and Matthew are trying to develop? Could someone explain this story to me with them trying to develop and build roads as its a bit difficult trying to figure out what has been going on with the Kings!

Basically the Kings purchased a big field they wished to develop into housing. But they needed access to it from a main road, and the easiest way to do this was through one of HomeFarm's (ala Zoe's) fields. They tried to buy it off her, but she said no... so Sadie tried to con it out of her by saying she wanted to make a stud farm on the field. Jack found out (I think via Cain..it all happened the week Katie left), and told Zoe. To get one over on the King's, Zoe sold the field to Jack and Andy... and threw Sadie out the house (she was living with her after her split from Jimmy), hence them falling out! This all lead to the barn fire... due to the King's wanting to make Andy bankrupt so he'd sell the field!

![]() Can't believe i missed so much ![]() I do think the King family are great though, i love all the business rivallry and storylines surrounding King & Sons. It reminds be of the business wars of The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless

To me, with the inclusion of Sadie (who could be doing with being a little bit more of a bitch IMO), the whole board meetings-land ownership stuff wouldn't of been out of place in Falcon Crest (my favourite of the 80's supersoaps...closely followed by Dynasty of course
). I do enjoy The Kings... Emmerdale being my favourite soap for most the year thus far!

I'm confused as to where this land development thing is going though, I mean are they still trying to go ahead with the same housing estate? Because I know that couple we saw buy some land off Zoe a couple of weeks back, feature very heavily soon in this storyline (at least the woman does - she was in Corrie years back), so do the Kings still need Andy's land, or is the land this couple own meant to be part of a new development?
I know that sounds confusing...

![]() Its great to have something different in a soap. None of the other soaps have any businesses like in Emmerdale where they can create these great storylines, so its nice for there to be something different to the others. |

Oh that's right, I remember now. Ta!
I don't know if you saw the new couple, but the one episode they were in was awful! The acting was so bad it was almost funny. Hopefully that was just a one-off.... |

I do hope that this will be one of those storylines that has a happy ending, The housing development will all fall through at the last minute.
I really do not think Emmerdale needs a housing development , it would result in increased housing (obviously) which means more people , a bigger cast. But with a bunch of new homes and a lot more people it will be less Emmerdale as we know it and more like the other town based soaps. |

Would the housing development be close to Emmerdale though or would it be something that they develop and then we just hear about it but never really see it, it isn't part of the village?

I would be amazed if it went ahead, purely on the basis of cost. Even though the houses would be just empty "shells", I can't imagine they'd come cheap. It could be worth it though...they do seem to struggle to keep people all living in the village at times (like putting the Kings in Holdgate Farm which I still can't quite beleive).

I'm always getting confused about how far away all these places are supposed to be form the village, and how big Homefarm and Andy's farm are (I mean he needs a quad-bike to travel across it with ease). Who knows if the development will go ahead, but it will be alot of fun finding out

Was it the Glover's old farm... which is now just the house after they went bankrupt?

Now that the Kings no longer need Sadie's little piece of land, why don't they get rid of her.
