Haven't seen Corrie for about 3 months because I have been glued to BB. Watched it last night but can anyone tell me if Martin has been written out yet and if so, how was he written out?

The scripts for Martin's exit have been written. He becomes a football mascot & falls for a mascot of another team. This was first mentioned in last night's episode when Martin said he was doing a favour for an old school friend (although people who haven't heard about the spoiler won't know what the favour is as Martin didn't tell Gail or David what it entailed).

According to press reports the final scenes have been filmed & Sean Wilson (Martin) refused to get into his costume (a chicken) for some filming so it's actually a double inside.

Was Martin in last night's episode? I was on the phone for a short time so I missed part of the second episode. The mascot storyline seems as daft as the two episodes aired last night

If yo uwatched it last night then you would have seen him having dinner with Gail and David. Or were you making a sneaky cup of tea then ?

No, as I mentioned on the post before yours, I was on the phone for a short time so it must have been during that call that I missed him. Never mind there's always the repeat on sunday.

I don't get why they want to send off a long serving cast member with such a lack of dignity.

I get the impression that his ending was supposed to be more dignified but after he came out and blasted the producers in the newspapers, Tony Wood and co decided to make him a laughing stock. Good on them, I say.
