Sorry, but this has been going on for AGGGEEESS!! Its gotten very boring with her, Effie and whats his name. All shes doing is wandering around bleating about New Zealand, with no progression in the story. When is she leaving now? While we're on the subject, am I the only one who feels like Effie and the other guy just appeared from no where? I must have missed an ep or two, but they seemed to just appear one day.

I think you have missed an episode or fifty. Effie has been Zoe's nanny since May, Calum has been estate manager since June 2004.

Zoe is meant to be leaving in September.

I'm enjoying the storyline and both Effie and Callum's parts. Effie did appear from nowhere, obviously they wanted to use her in the story right from the start to give Zoe a sort of friend..

It does seem the writers have run out of things for Zoe to do. Her interaction with other villagers is very limited, and only seems to be when theres big confromtations that we see her in the village. A shame as I used to really like Zoe and the Tates. I dont think the Kings will ever replace the Tates for me.

No you're not! The first time Callum made an appearance all three people that were watching it this house said "Who the f***in' 'ell's he then?" in unison. And we all watch it avidly. Between the three of us we never miss an ep. It's the fact that everyone was talking about him like he'd been there forever that confussed the crap out of us!

I love this Zoe storyline, I think its very Dallas The whole history of the Tates and Home Farm, wonderful stuff. Although I hate to see Zoe looseing all her support, shes one of the best characters in any soap, shes fab. She will be a real loss to Emmerdale so I hope she isnt going too soon but it looks like its bullding up quicker now for her exit.

I heard she was leaveing but the door would be left open, so in that respect she hasnt taken time off, so I guess its permanent unless the actress changes her mind. Isnt she going to learn to be Yoga teacher?

They often say they are leaving to "take a break" and then we never see them again.

Zoe has taken quite a few breaks though (e.g. twice when the actress was pregnant) and she does tend to come back. Mind you, perhaps she's had enough now. I think the character may have run its course!

You just know in a few years Joseph will be such a messed up teenager. And God knows what Kim's son is like...

I think there is plenty of potential left in Zoe, but it was hard since her family is all but gone. Though having Jean has provided new opportunities, and of course she hasn't had a girlfriend for years.

Ideally when (if) she returns next summer, she'll come back in a relationship.

Yeah I heard she was. I doubt she'll come back, which is a real shame but I really can't see where the character can go from here. The 'Scott/Rape' is getting a bit tiring now.

Oh - if they would give her a girlfriend she might be a bit more interesting.

She used to be my favourite character! I can see why they gave her a kid but all that Scott stuff drove me up the wall. Mind you I was already driven up the wall by the schizophrenia stuff.

Why is Zoe making plans for New Zealand without awaiting the outcome of the trial? Is she planning on fleeing? If so then why is no-one batting an eyelid over her selling up? And last question, honestly, if she does come back where is she going to live

This is the part of the storyline I don't understand at all. You are up on a serious charge of attempted murder and yet you sell all your property for a quick 'cash' sale and make plans to go abroad. Wouldnt that arouse some sort of suspicion from people that you might do a runner? The Police for example?

They must have done their training at the same time as those in Walford PS.

Isn't Leila going to do something with Yoga. Learn to be a teacher ?

Yes I heard she was going to be a teacher. Quite a transformation really, imagine turning up for classes to find Zoe as your instructer.

Oh I do hope they bring her back with some changes. I know we haven't got Frank or Chris, but a girlfriend for Zoe and a long lost Tate would be amazing. I know the Kings are played by good actors (apart from Patsy), but I think the Tates had something where you actually cared about them spending ten minutes watching them talking about business plans and screwing someone over. I'm just not getting that with the Kings. I'm not even sure what their business is, and I CANNOT believe Patsy Kensit is now number 7 in the top ten highest soap earners with a new £150,000 contract, when I can't take any scene with her serious. Schmichael should be on a higher salary than her. I didnt mean this to turn into a rant about Emmerdale, its my fave soap and has been for ages. Its just the Tates will always be the high fliers in the village, and the writers are trying too hard to make the Kings a replacement.
(Hopes Rodney doesn't sell Home Farm to the Kings)
