I agree...though not the past two nights as the lot of them have been in bed early which is a pity as I tend to watch quite a lot after midnight.
In reply to "Spencer boring?" One of only two to have a strike for breaking the rules? Causes BB many headaches with his tricks. Teases people endlessly and can take critisism without a care. Washes as often as anyone else but puts up with the little digs people have about him as he expects others to put up with his teasing in return (and many don't). Great sense of dry humour...Intellegent, caring - though he acts cool...I could go on.
How can you compare Alex? Alex who's entertaining because he's clueless about how to interact with people without causing friction? That's not nice to watch...the poor guy needs lesson in basic human relationships...giving people respect for their own opinions etc. He has had a few rare moments of being funny on purpose, but he usually messes that up by being so pleased with himself and needy of more attention that he pushes things further and wonders why people don't keep laughing. Alex who despite critisising others for their hygine has himself done gross things...but when he does it, its OK of course...
People who don't "get" Spencer (or Dean in BB2) seem to be the sort who like obvious humour, or obvious clowns. Personally I prefer my comedy more subtle...if you don't have to think about something being funny the laugh quickly fades. If something takes thought to appreciate then the laugh lingers and is more rewarding for the effort needed to get it.
Also, there are few people in the house who've talked about life in any meaningful way...most conversations revolve around "I did this, he said that, does my bum look big in this?" Spencer is one of the few who I've listened to talking about life, l feelings, desires for the future...but I bet people who don't watch E4 late at night ever see that side of him? Its never been shown on C4 as far as I've seen?
Oh, and as a 30+ straight male with no appreciation of Spencer's or Alex's looks I'm certainly not judging on appearances.
So for the record, Spencer does wash, is not really a sexist I don't believe as what I've seen is said in jest, not a homophobic (again, in jest), is not lazy when later in the evening, IS a rebel and intellegent witty guy with some really amusing moments....those are the reasons I want Alex out...who is painful to watch in his awkwardness, is about as funny as a car crash for that reason, and has added little but negative things to my experience of watching the housemates....
