I wonder what Big Brothers position is should some really really major event take place (not the world cup/wimbledon) , for example Sept.11 or World War 3 breaking out?

Would the housemates be told, or would they be left in their own little unsuspecting world until they were evicted/walked?

Its a shame BB cannot compile the days news on video, edited to filter out all the crap/attempts to contact the house e.t.c. and it could be shown at the same time everyday, perhaps at teatime.

I'd imagine they got told if it was an 'important world event'. I know that the American housemates got told about the Sept 11th incidents, I'm not sure if they would have been told if one of the housemates hadn't had relatives in New York, but I'd imagine they would have.

If something happened between India and Pakistan I don't know if the housemates would be told, I would think they should be told. If it was a world war then they'd definitely be told (and if there was any danger of Britain being attacked I'd imagine it would all be off anyway).

If World War 3 started and England was being bombed, Big Brother would be scrapped.

Thank you HBK, that has helped.

I think someone needs to remind Hutchio of the T & Cs of the forums.

jack
"bin liner" - like it.

I was very very confused as everyone else was just chatting away and all I could see was some meaningless words: that must be what it's like to be dyslexic... Horrible it was.

you sure about this? you don't think that BB would set up a phone vote: "which HM would you like to see conscripted to fight the enemy first!"

in the USA Big Bro, when september 11 happened they called one of the girls to the diary room to tell them that 'a plane had crashed into the WTC but that her sister (I think) that worked there was ok.' that was all they were told I think.

Well I read it sober and hadn't got a clue!!!

If I'd read a drunken post while being drunk I might have got it.
Should have read it last night then instead of going to bed!

I think the nation should colude with the producers of Big Brother & concoct a situation for the HM to face when they come out the house, like the area around the house should look like a scene from 1984, & that Big Brother has taken over outside as well! It would be hillerious when Jade gets told the thought police are after her, Spencer gets told he has to live off disgusting tasting gin & fags that all the tobacco fall out of, or what PJ did with Jade is now technically illegal as he is now a member of the party & she is just a prole.

I recall many of the housemates in the beginning were given some sort of waiver with different options on it. ie: Would they like to be notified of terrorist attacks against the western world, etc. I recall Alex talking about this particular.

As far as that comment a ways back into the thread about September 11th: "Why is it coming early this year?"
That was really distasteful. Even as a joke, how can you equate the arrival of an annual Holiday with the terrble events of 9/11?

Please use a little tact and consideration when making such a comment - there are some of us who see it more than just a day in September last year.

I appreciate it in advance.

Don't the housemates make a list of things that they would want to know about before they go into the house??

Sophie _ I wonder if they have set that nuclear bomb off in Pakistan?"

Alex - "They would have told me if they had of done, because I put that on my.. ehm.."

Sophie - "what?"

Alex - ".. on my list of things to be told.. oh no they wouldn't cause I said any terrorist activity in America and er.. Europe I want to know about"

September the 11th isn't a annual holiday is it?
Maybe in the USof A?

And I *did* use a LITTLE tact and consideration.

Of course, Bin Liner is my friends + mine pet name for the bearded on, as that's what I'd like to use his skin for when/if we find him...

But it is interesting to see about the US version, and how they were told about it....
