BB play up Alex again
quinnster

Interesting to see just how many facets of Alex's personality they showed us last night (mostly good ones, or at least, touching/endearing ones) - whereas all we saw of Spencer was him poking fun at BB again (with his 'back to back pre-eviction photo' comment) and him asking to see Kate's boobs, chucking a banana skin over his shoulder and then farting.

Do you think it's just the tiniest bit possible that BB are trying to influence the public vote, hm?

No Spencer is like that anyway and is only awake for a few hours so there's not much to show in any case

Interesting to see whatever you see when you just stick cameras in front of people.

Do you think its the tiniest bit possible that this is just how Alex and Spencer typically behave? Or are they just not showing us the bits where Alex asks to see Kate's boobs, chucking a banana skin over his shoulder and then farting or Spencer being more endearing?

If anything that kind of behaviour will go in Spencers favour rather than.. I'm certain that the majority of those who will take up the time to vote will go for Spencers humour and for the way he goes against the grain, the rebellious attitude he provides.. but equally lack the understanding of what makes a program entertaining beyond a few selected moments per day.. and although Spencer can be occasionally funny.. he isn’t the all round entertainer that Alex is.. The cameras can quite happily spend a good 15-20 minutes [or more] on Alex plodding around the house because your just waiting for him to say or do something silly, which he does frequently.. whereas the same can’t be said of the others.. they operate usually from the ‘sat down’ position.. lethargic baseless humour .. Alex’s presence fills the screen much more and therefore is the superior viewing of the housemates.. even those who dislike him don’t mind watching him, if only to pick up on some of his character eccentricities.. whereas Spencer is actually quite ‘boring’ to watch for a duration and is only useful for the occasional ‘sound bite’ ..

I really do feel that once Alex has gone people are going to realise just how much of an influence he had in the house in terms of comedic value .. and how the dynamics of the group will be so mixed that the show will become predictable, lacking the stooge value that Alex brought to house..

I dont think they showed all of alex's good points , like the way he handled jade when she wasso upset , he was acting like a Big Brother to her ... and i agree that they wont know what they had till he has gone

Perhaps Alex has been able to dominate the (rich) group this week because of his sucess in the task "his angels" know they are there only because he chose them and they have not once challenged him Tim is still finding his feet so he won't put a foot wrong until the outcome of Fridays eviction, and poor Sophie knows she is there courtesy of her feminine odour. On the other side of the divide Spencer and PJ have had to cope with a 2nd week (irritating how Alex keeps reminding them that their 2nd week is so much easier than he had it??? strange logic) Johnny is only just recovering from the mauling that Sandy gave him and the cheat accusations.
Fair play to Kate she has seemed to have taken it in her stride, therefore if Spencer goes the dynamics of the group may not change significantly Alex will continue to ponce about with support from his harem, however if he goes this will create space for Tim who will get stronger then stand back for fireworks as Spencer goes head to head, could be a good time to drop the divide so Tim and Spencer can get nose to nose,I do think that however entertaining Alex has been if Spencer is defeated the event will just turn into more and more of the Alex Show and become as predictable as Brians steamrollering of BB2

Oh, I'm not knocking Alex. I very much want him to stay - I just thought it was interesting that with a bit of choice editing, they can emphasise characteristics quite a lot.

I'm not suggesting that Alex or Spencer behave differently for the other 23½ hours of the day.. but they're clearly plugging Alex this week, rather than Spencer.

I don't think the outcome of the program really matters - either Spencer, Alex or Jonny will win the show, who cares?.. Its the quality of the entertainment we get along the way towards the end. I feel that Alex provides a pivatol role in the house and the tension that he puts on even his closest friends [unintentionally] provides great value for money.... Booting him out [which I admit is the likely case from the various polls] will leave such a hole that no one will be able to fill..

Tim does not really have potential because the public have already taken against him - i'm sure PJ would survive him even [and PJ isn't at all liked on the outside] ...

The last three will consist of Spencer, Kate & PJ .. at least one [or two] of those do not deserve to make it that far.. but Spencer and his 'fan club' will allow it .. because he cannot operate without either of his teammates.... although Alex can operate in any group environment..

Alex is definitely the star of the show with the most entertainment value. No wonder it seems that BB is playing him up.

Not in the BB house!!!!!

I'm new to this forum so apologies if this has already been suggested : -
1 - BB are quite right to edit and 'direct' the show for maximum entertainment value. If that means they think they should show Alex in a good light then thats fine by me because, you must remember that they can ONLY show what the HM's do . . so their destiny is in their own hands. If spencer wants to be portrayed as entertaining as Alex then all he has to do is act that way.

2 - Would it have been possible for Alex to choose the 'poor' side last Saturday, but take no other housemates with him (thus ensuring everyone else remained on the 'rich' side)? Can't see anyone nominating him if he had done such an unselfish thing . . . . . . . . he has perhaps chosen short term pleasures over possibly winning the show!

Yes, he could chose what side he wanted to live on and take "Up to 3 housemates with him if he wanted". If he'd chosen the poor side on his own I don't think he'd have received a nomination from anyone. Not that I'm saying he should have chosen that sh*thole

It's not a case of "Playing up" Alex, it is a fact that he is far more interesting and witty than that boring tosser Spencer IMO

Too true, it says somthing when Spencers highlights are telling other housemates to suck his cock and him farting in the bedroom.

I think that would be quite see thru - If someone did that to me, I would feel as though they had only done it for their gain (no nominations) and I would resent the feeling that I somehow owed them.

I would vote for them regardless...

Even now PJ is saying fair play to alex - he is on the rich side with 3 girls.

Pointless arguing in a way tho....

Still made more sense than Jades rantings at Adele. If only she'd thought of doing that to Adele, I dobt Adele would have had much of an answer to it.

This is proof of just how boring spencer is! You say they only showed the bit... but thats ALL HE DID! Hes a bore! They showed a lot more of Alex, because he did more! without alex, bb would be sooo boring! GET SPENCER OUT!

The Alex/Adele/Jade is becoming a typical soap, and we know how popular they are, BB knows what will pull the viewers in.
