Should I bet on Alex?
I really want to make a bet on Alex winning BB, but I've never made a bet before in my life and don't know how it all works. So is it worth making a bet on Alex, and about how much d'you think would be a good amount to bet?

At his current odds, my personal answer would be no. So much can, change as we have seen with spencer.
Just go to one of the major highstreet bookmakers eg william hills or Ladbrokes and have a look at the big brother betting, which will usually be under the "Specials" catorgary. From then on its just a case of setting up an account (you may even get a free bet), deposting some money, clicking on Alex and saying how much you would like to stake. Of course, however much you want to bet is up to you, but as they say, only bet as much as you can afford to lose. You may find though, that with BB betting the maximum you can bet will be quite low, this is because the bookmakers are worried about more possible stings. If you have any other questions, ask away. |

Well if Alex survives tomorrow i think a lot of bookies will stop taking bets on this years episode all together. Cries of fix will be heard. Before this week Spencer was so far in front of Alex in popularity that the word "Fix" is the only one that can explain an Spencer eviction.

Throw into that constant "Support Alex" campaigns on the internet, tv and betting stings and surely there's no hope for Spencer. Otherwise I think Spencer would have edged it by between 5 and 10 percent.

Does anyone else find the show a bit of an anti climax when we are already talking about tommorow being the final? Its one of the reasons why i stopped watching last year as soon as Bubble went and i think it will be the same this year.
Another thing, if people are finding things dull right now with the lack of weekly tasks and what not then how boring will things be when we get down to just the last 6? I know, USBB3 will be about to start!

Thanks for the advice. I went to Ladbrokes and found the BB section, and I know it might sound a bit stupid, but I don't really understand the odds. Alex is 5/4 and Spencer is 4/1, what does that mean? You'd get £4 for every £1 you bet on Spencer if he wins??

Just a girl........
Ladbrokes have a 'bet calculator' underneath the displayed odds which will help you. Just hit 'single' then do your sums! ![]() (although you are correct in thinking you would get £4 return for every £1 you spend @4/1) Keep the calculator in your browser and use it for any odds you are not able to calculate (if any ?)

As an alternative william hill offer the option to display the odds decimally rather than fractionally, so 4/1 would display as 5.00 i.e. bet a pound returns £5 (your winnings plus your stake), incidentally they also have better odds for spencer 5/1 or 6.00, so betting a pound returns £6
now me, I put a tenner each way on Alex in the first week when he was 50-1 to win (they've stopped taking each way/place bets now), that's a bet of £10 that he gets into the final three at 10-1, and a bet of £10 that he wins at 50-1, so if he finishes second or third, I'll pick up £110, if he finishes first, I'll get £620 back. |
