YAY Doctor's is back

A pretty average story for the first episode, I thought. Not sure what to make of the new doctor. He looks too young (am I getting too old? LOL ) and it's wierd seeing him as a doctor after having been a nurse on Holby.

Still, it's early days, but I'm happy it's back.

How did I not see this thread? Sorry about that. Weird how we put the same things though Great minds eh? I think the new Doctor seems a bit dodgy. At the moment I'm more into the UKtvGold repeats. Mostly because Jude is still in them...

guess it must have been hiding LOL

I hope some more people start posting in here - if we keep agreeing with each other, there won't be much to talk about

I like Jude, I think I started watching towards the end of the time when her sister was in it. I really don't like the look of the new guy - hope we (I) get to see lots of Greg to make up for the disappointment of the new doc

Extremely. I loved her accent too... and her dress sense - she was always so good to us wearing those lovely tight leather jackets *sighs*

I wish they put Doctors on at night time too (or an omnibus at weekends). I miss it because I'm at work when it's on and when I tape stuff it never gets watched lol.

Its annoying when you miss it because some of the storylines change quickly and if you miss a couple sometimes you think "What the heck is going on?" I remember that I missed the one where Julia comes into it and tries to get back with Mac and I was like "who is she?" and for ages I had no idea that she was his ex.

We meet again! Dropped in on the last Doctors thread and showed my utter dislike for Nathan!

Thank god Doctors is back! How rubbish has daytime telly been all these months???

Am not sure what to think of the new doctor, but as as soon as he said "should be a parter in no time", my first word was "smug"! Will reserve my judgement until he officially joins the practice and starts getting his feet under the table! I wish Ben had stayed though! But not his son, Nathan.... I couldnt STAND him!

Don't think Mac will be too pleased if this drunken friend (well, I'm assuming she's an old friend....) of Julia's ends up staying with them, especially with Mac looking after his son whilst Kate has the operation!

It's great to have Doctors back - not sure about the new doctor just yet - I think they're gonna give him an attitude to start with, then maybe Mac will give him a good Mac-Talking-To and all will be good.

As for the drunken woman, she'll definately be moving into Julia and Mac's - you can see it coming a mile off - could set off Mac's alcoholism again?

Doctors:
Mac and Julia's new house is exactly the same as their old one, except they keep complaining it's too big.
Helen is having counseling and is on anti-depressants
A new doctor starts tomorrow and Greg can't wait for tomorrow
Mac has gone to pick up Kieran as Kate is having an operation so he's staying for a while

Patients:
A father only has limited access to his son, is worried about his son being ill. His mate, a "Kids Need Dads" campaigner, convinces him to abduct his son and take him to the doctors. Mother goes mental. Mac gives father a good Mac Talking To and he sees the error of his ways and apologises to mother and child. Kid is cute and persuades mother to let him keep seeing dad.

Other:
Some drunk woman is thrown out of her house. Wanders around crying a lot and drinking, begging for money off strangers. Leaves message for Julia asking if she can stay with her and ends up outside the surgery.

Then at the end the new doctor turns up to look over the surgery in his flash sports car and his glamerous wife/girlfriend - is very cocky - thinks he'll be partner in no time.

Sorry it's disjointed - I'm not very good at this!

Great, thanks Raynecleoud, now I'm set for tomorrow. Isn't it wonderful how Mac always sorts it out. Wish my Doctors was like his.

Indeed - it's not quite realistic how well the doctors all know their patients so well!

I think Doctors should get a 6/7pm repeat on BBC Two or Three, as im sure it would be a big hit with folk who don't normally see it.

I watched them filming some scenes last week in Birmingham's Mailbox.

He can indeed!

I think they should put it on BBC Three in the evenings as well - perhaps we should all be writing to the BBC?

Doctors:
Julia gets the message from the drunken woman and looks concerned
Jimmi turns up in his flash car, music blasting, Sarah and Faith drool over him - he's a bit shorter than the other doctors - has a nice suit on but his tie has a really wide knot. He also wears an earring, which means he's cool
Greg admits to Faith and Sarah that Helen didn't like the look of Jimmi - possible romance on the way for the Black Widow?
George is away apparently - come back George!

Patients:
A hippy "drifter" daughter appears to be slipping tons of salt into her dad's food. Dad feels ill but daughter convinces him not to goto the doctor
The dad goes to see Helen and asks about what would happen if he was poisoned. Helen finds it odd and looks puzzled
An estate agent in a pink shirt arrives to valuate the house for the daughter, but is told to go away by the father, who is flustered
The father is frustrated at the daughter and collapses - the daughter doesn't want to phone the doctor, but then does - Helen turns up and the father is babbling about how much of a bitch the daughter is - "she's a witch and she's poisoning me"
Despite lots of shots of salt throughout the episode, turns out the daughter has been putting herbal remedies in the dad's food - damn those hippies!
Helen isn't impressed by this and says such a mixture is dangerous and we should all goto herbalists before taking herbal medicines, and it's especially dangerous for the elderly - entertain and educate, kids!
Helen says the father isn't ill because of the herbal remedies at all, but it's Psittacosis which can be caught from pigeons - well done Helen!

Others:
Sarah discovers drunk lady from yesterday sleeping in the bin bags round the back of the surgery - Sarah thinks she's dead, but after getting Jimmi's help, the woman is alive!
Julia realises the woman is her friend, Marcia.
Marcia The Drunk has had a tough time with a divorce - blah blah.
Shockingly, Julia says Marcia can stay with Julia "as long as you want to" - ruh roh...
Mac returns with Kieran and Julia tells Mac Marcia will be staying "for a few days" - Mac: err... ok...

I was going to start a thread on this yesterday, then saw no one else was mentioning it, so wondered if we don't mention 'Doctors' on here! So thanks Jack for starting it!

I love Doctors, have watched it since episode one, though thought it went a bit off the boil last year so kind of dipped in and out. I even started a 'Doctors' forum as there was no forum for it out there....but I never got round to advertising it and had nowhere to advertise it!

I was worried last year when Ben went, and all the oldies seemed to have gone.....but I like to see new faces too.

I have to say, I am liking the new doctor....from a purely shallow pov! I predict a few romantic storylines with him..I hope so. We need a bit of that back in Doctors.

Every series they focus more on a couple of the characters than the rest..I can see it being Mac and Julia already this year And hopefully Jimmi.

Still, we shall see...I will miss it the next few days after Wednesday as cricket comes first!

Btw...who has been everyones favourite character ever?

I was an Ollie fan, it has to be said. And I love George. She is very 'me' is George!

*watches people put Boho on ignore*

Edit...very interesting what they say about Jimmi's character on the BBC Doctors page...I predict fireworks between him and Mac! (Not sure if I can post it here or not?) And checking on DS news...they have revealed a very interesting part of his character..I hope they do it right. I am sure they will. I won't say though..don't want to spoil stuff for anyone.

Some great hints at what is to happen in the future in the series too....

I used to really like Jude, now my favourite is definately George - they've always been cool doctors

I think there will be a pretty even spread this year as George is due in a couple of months - although I'm not sure if Faith or Sarah will get a look in...

After the great success of Easties Updates and Corrie Commentary I'm starting up my own updates about Doctors - http://letherbridge.blogspot.com/
