Absolutely brilliant!!!! I love him and just love the way they all take him so seriously and go on about being "focussed"

Absolutely love this! I never saw the UK version of Hell's Kitchen, but grew to like GR's straight talking in the restaurant/pub programme. I just wish GR had told the pizza ordering 'I have a phd' fatty to F**k off as well! What an idiot!
Glad to see the back of creepy baker, Dewberry. Haven't seen as much of the blue team yet, but most of them seem pretty smug. Roll on next week.

I love it when the americans go up to complain and get a sheer f-ink off from Ramsey

What this show lacks is the celebrity diners, I hope we have a UK one again with Ramsey not them two *****

Brilliant programme. It was excellent seeing the contestants faces on the first show, when Gordon had to sample their signature dishes, and he completely slated every one of them!.
I've managed pubs and worked in kitchens/restaurants over the years, and as anyone else has who knows, chefs have the most appalling language, and do not think twice to swear/shout/throw things, especially at the poor waiting staff. And i've worked in many a kitchen in the summer with the temperature's hitting 130 degrees - and no air con, so i think it was fair for Gordon to make them work in those conditions on last night's show. After all, it's no picnic running a kitchen/restaurant, so these guys will need to know what to expect....

I love the programme! It's hilarious when he's horrible to them. I know it's not nice for them and he goes to far sometimes but some of the stuff he comes out with really makes me laugh sometimes!

I agree that they should do another UK series with GR instead of whoever did the second series!

I like it, but the Americans seem to make everything serious with "dramatic music" and a tense voice over. UK version is much better, but HK US is still good viewing.

I have to say that I've enjoyed the two episodes that have been shown. I have seen the documentary of Gordon Ramsey when the air con broke down, that he mentioned to the blue team before they turned off the air-con.

He seemes to swear quite a lot in that as well. My wife is a trained chef and when she use to work in the kitchens for a local hotel, she said that the head chef speaks extactly the Gordon speaks.

some people think GR is rude and swears a lot just for effect but when you see the end result, you realise what he does it for.

watch any episode of ramsey's kitchen nightmares and see how he makes it look easy getting these places up to scratch.

i read a survey a while back that said about 60% of people would like him as their boss because he shows he cares about the people who work for him and motivates them to be the best they can be.

the only reason he didn't do a second series on ITV is cos' he jumped to CH4 and signed a deal with them.

loving the show so far tho !

Shame isn't it?

It's the same with every US reality show. The music, the editing, the 'he's a cop' voice over. You can't dramatise reality television. That's completely missing the point.

Other than that, I've quite enjoyed what I've seen. Put him on telly over here and he's a monster. Set him on the yanks and he's a national hero.

...No offence yanks.

stupid question, but do you think they tell the diners who come in what to expect ???

or do you think they just tell them it's a new place and they get free food ?

and didn't i hear a story about one of the contestants supposedly threatening to sue GR because he shoved him and he fell over ?

i'm sure it said something like the show could have been pulled if this guy sued, but they worked out a deal and nothing happened.

It's much better seeing Gordon Ramsey shouting and swearing because he has a passion for food. Rather than see Gary Rhodes doing it because he wants to copy Gordon Ramsey. Gordon doesn't feel the need to keep taking his jacket off as well.

Well, I learnt something new from last night's show: Cold water boils faster than hot! And to think for all those years I foolishly thought it was the other way around...

I'm going to have to rewatch, now 'cos I missed that.
From my sudies of physics I would say that the statement is false. Who said it Philip?

I think that was probably what got whatserface fired. If you don't know something as simple as that....!

Not surprised kidney stone bloke legged it...although I noticed it said on the end credits that he left "due to an injury" rather than being f**ked off at Gordon shouting at him.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of Hell's Kitchen.

Wendy said it about 33 minutes in, after Jeff complains about never being on a f***ing line before (what does that mean? He's been in a kitchen before!)

Gordon: Why did you put cold water in there?

Wendy: I thought cold water was supposed to boil faster than hot water.

Gordon: Whhhaat?!

I always thought it was boiling water that freezes faster than cold water.

Neither scenario seems very likely though.

Actually boiled water that has been distilled and then cooled would freeze more quickly than unboiled water at the same temperature, because salts in the water lower the temperature at which water freezes. Hence salting roads during icy weather. Salt is added to the water for boiling vegetables to raise the temperature at which the water boils.

There's the threads science bit.

I noticed that last night. The contestant's language is getting worse. Are they trying to mimic GR?
