Lola's Theme
27-09-2005
First up was the challenge, JP gave them about an hours lecture on how to set the table and half of them were falling asleep. GR then pulled the tablecloth off the set table and told them each team had to do their own tables. Red team made 4 mistakes, Blue just the one, so Reds had to polish the silverware and glasses whilst Blues had massages and pedicures.

Next day, Blues had time to set up service and workstations while Reds had to set tables for whole resturant. GR announced first team to serve all their customers were immune to elimination. Blues started really well, had a great advantage. Andrew was on garnish and couldn't remember what went with what meat so Ralph wrote him cheat sheet, but didn't seem to help as he held up several orders by getting things wrong. However, when GR shouted at him he held his tongue this week. Over on the Red team, they started to catch up but were still a few tables behind when one of the Blue tables sent back their Risottos. Mary Ellen had to remake the whole table starters and the kitchen had to wait until she was done, however she managed to leave one of them out so had to start again. This gave time for the Reds to catch up and eventually overtake them. Kitchens were then closed with still 5 tables to serve on the blue side.

Jessica was chose by GR to nominate 2. Mary Ellen predicted it wouldn't be her as she was buddies with Jess. Ralph was convinced it was him, and Jess hinted it could be as he was a big contender to win. In the end, she put forward Andrew and Mary Ellen and it was obvious everyone expected Andrew to go, even he said the odds were against him as it was his second time up. When GR asked him why he should stay, he said because he hadn't answered back and that proved he was a "learning machine". I can't remember what reason Mary Ellen gave because she is so very very dull. Anyway, GR chose Mary Ellen, Jessica cried, Ralph looked shocked and that was the end of it.

Thank you very much Lola's Theme.

I enjoyed the first programme a lot. The second programme wasn't as good but was still watchable. Last nights programme was so predictable I turned over after 10 minutes and watched the documentary on Bob Dylan instead.

I found this at the bottom of a dusty pile. Anybody still watching. They've been shifting the time of this round haven't they.

I thought I was the only one still watching. I must admit, I'm loving it and I'm a huge fan of Elsie. I'd like to slap the rest of them after only watching half of tonight's show.

I like Elsie. She's nice and down to earth. The guy's egos seem to be too big.

Ralph and Michael have ambition, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Jessica is a total waste of oxygen and I can't really understand why she's still there - possibly because Ralph's been carrying her.

Tonight's show implies that GR has faith in Elsie, and that's really pissed the others off big time.

They're like schoolkids who want some sort of positive attention from the teacher. Understandable really; I'd rather have GRs praise than his curses directed at me, but since my culinary talents are more geared towards the perfect pot noodle, it's never gonna happen

Well it's all changed now.

Damn. Why do bullies always win in the end?

I'll never understand the logic of Gordon Ramsay, but there ya go! Ralph is the only one left that I have any shred of appreciation for, if only because he had the courage to nominate Jessica after she saved him from nomination a week earlier.

Jessica was such a jealous b*tch tonight, I really hoped that she would be out, Elsie should have stayed

So long as Jessica doesn't win. I wanted Elsie to win.

I wanted Elsie to win too, and I will be really annoyed if Jessica does. Michael I can live with. Ralph would make me feel OK.

At least I am comforted by the fact that Elsie's 6 kids will be fed well. I get the feeling from watching this that they'll be brought up well too.

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn to Gordon Ramsay. Anyone know his e-mail adress? LOL.

I think from who's left I think I would like Michael to win most.

I didn't really like Elsie that much - she seemed so smug

Which could be a contributary factor as to the others feeling the way they did - and did not help her on the night ...

Winning a task is not always a good thing!

I've wanted Michael to win from the first week, but tonight he disappointed me. The 'bitterness' - as whinging Jessica constantly puts it - is spreading. I was wondering if GR reviewed the camera footage before making his decision to give Elsie the chop. I wanted to see him wipe that smirk off Jessica's face!

Michael is good, but I must admit I can't stand the guy.

I would not trust him as far as I could throw him, I really hope he does not win, purely because I think he 100% thinks he will!

Pity Elsie went, am routing for either Ralph or Jessica now, but think it will be a Ralph v Michael final.

think elsie showed a lot of class - the other three basically hung her out to dry and she said nothing.

GR knew it as well - that's why he asked her if she felt she got the support from her team.

I just wish he'd said something after she went.

Michael to win for me - just plain don't like Ralph and Jessica isn't as good as she thinks she is - but she'll go next week.

Although I agree with what you're saying, the way GR asked her twice if she got the support I get the feeling he wanted her to say no and that they made her an outsider.
We're they right to treat her like that? I dont think so and even if they were bitter they should not have shown it so obviously in the kitchen.
It's the thin line between teamwork for the restaurant and competing for the winning spot.

You do know by now who actually won, right??

No we don't, there's still a couple of weeks left to run on ITV2 so please don't tell us...

(even though I already accidentally read it on another thread here!)

Jessica needs a good slapping - if she does that smug face where she smiles with only one side of her mouth once more I'm going to scream!

LOL So it's not just me who finds it irritating then!! Although I don't mind her other than that. I thought Ralph let himself down this week a bit, as he seemed more of a team player from what I had seen before. Although given that he has not had a trip out since the start may have been a big factor.

I think Jessica is cute, she looks a bit like my sister actually.....now now I hear some groaning going on in the background, be nice!

Never really get to watch this weekly so don't know exactly what their individual characters/personalities are like.

But I thought that woman with 6 kids leaving was touching, seems Gordon was gutted too, but why did he fire her then I wonder?
