EE is good at the moment apart from one storyline being the never ending Kat/Alfie/Mo storyline. When is he gonna make up his mind? First it was Mo, then Kat, then he decided none of them, then back to Little Mo, then back to Kat again, now it looks like he's back to Little Mo!! I thought last night he was finally gonna choose Kat, then that dopey expression appeared on his face again and he walked out. What are the writers playing at because this is getting really boring?

Yes. Do not get me started on Shane Richie. How he won another Best Actor Award last night is beyond me. I think he's voting for himself. When the charcter first arrived I agree he was good and the writers managed to use a character in a unique way but now if I see that dog eyed look again I'm in danger of smashing my TV. Also he's still on our screens to Xmas!! I hope these movies he's signed up for withy Dreamworks are at least cartoons I've had enough of Shane's attempts at "acting". Sorry rant over.

I agree, it totally changes Alfie's character as well. Any nice decent person wouldn't wreck the realtionship between two sisters. He'd pick one of none and get on with it! Honestly, hes like a kid in a sweet shop.

I am drifting away from eastenders. In the school summer holidays i missed a lot of the soaps, just catching them enough to keep up with the story. Last night I had time to start my useful level of soap viewing and I was not at all impressed with eastenders, especially Alfie. He used to be a bright spark, fun and aware, and would never get into such a ridiculous situation. As for kat, the making him buy the flowers annoyed me, and if this carries on I might stop watching altogether.

His character has become dreary for two reasons - he works on the stall instead of the pub & his constant running after Little Mo instead of Kat.

The Inside Soap poll said that 43% of people did not want Alfie with Mo. Shane said he was quite happy by the split vote... but surely producers should be aiming for stories which get at least 75% support !!??

I think the pairing of little Mo and Alfie is completely out of character for both of them and will be the death of both characters. They were both good characters until this disasterous storyline and now I can't decide who I would like to throttle more.. Alfie of Mo. Kat and Alfie was a brilliant match and you could feel the chemistry between them, this pairing is just sick!

I reckon he had the voting number on speed-dial

When he first arrived behind the bar of the Vic he was a breath of fresh air, but I really can't stand his character these days, where he seemingly just plays Shane Richie.

I'm as frustrated as anyone else with the Alfie 'love' triangle - unbelievable, tedious, unrealistic and downright cringeworthy are some words which spring to mind when I think of this storyline.

I really don't care if he gets together with either of the Slater sisters - I simply am not interested.

I can't wait for him to leave - and if he takes that simpering wretch (Little Mo for those who have no idea who I'm talking about) with him, that would be an added bonus.

I quite enjoyed that period up until 2001. 2002 was when things started to go wrong although it was still a good soap at the beginning of the year.

Different people have enjoyed different periods of the show. You could say things started to go wrong back in 1989 because it will never reach the height of quality it had in the 1980s but strictly speaking it was still a good soap for many years following the 1980s.

Are we sure about this kyri? I keep hearing this, but also that it's supposed to still bubble away in the background until Christmas

I agree that when Kay finds out it sounds great, and will finally give Jessie something to get her teeth into (acting-wise I meant, although she might go for Mo's throat which will be entertaining too )

Well, what's the point if Alfie picks and Kat choses Mo over him.
