Val (Charlie Hardwick) is desperate to raise the funds that she owes Jimmy Pepper (Michael Gunn) and after Rodney (Patrick Mower) refuses to give her a loan, she thinks asking Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is her only option. When she arrives at the pub a busy Diane asks Val to go to the bank with the week’s takings and with the money in her hands Val can’t help but see it as the answer to all her problems.

She takes the money to Jimmy and asks him to hit her. He initially refuses, but she winds him up so much that he punches her in the face harder than she had expected. Val returns to the pub with a black eye, lying that she has been mugged.

Meanwhile, Cain (Jeff Hordley) is adamant that Debbie (Charley Webb) should stay at home with Sarah (Lucy Warren), but when she comes home drunk after a drinking session with Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman), he realises that school might keep her out of trouble and agrees that education will be the best thing all round.

Excellent episode.

Val and Jimmy were just great, and I can't wait for this to all blow up eventually. Still feel dead sorry for her. Diane and Val work so well together, especially when having a bust-up.

Liked the Debbie/Jasmine/Daz scenes, I just hope Jasmine sticks around. All good, believable characters and actors. And LOL at them winding up Edna.

I even liked Scott and Dawn.

Nice to get a break from the Kings.

Enjoyed tonight, thought Diane was a bit daft for trusting Val with the money. Diane obviously trusts her, lets see how long it lasts.

Cain Dingle continues to really annoy me. Why does he have to be so obnoxious to the Dingle slave girl.
He should appreciate that Emily is a willing volunteer.

Why should Jimmy Pepper return the furniture. He knows that Val stole the money and she is in no position to report him.
