Those are Peggys first words as she returns to Eastenders this week.

According to the BBC's Ariel paper, the show has had a rocky patch in the press and some low points but rejuvenation is now top of the list. A cull of characters is on the cards to make room for fresh faces and the return of old characters.

Peggys return was decision made before Kate Harwoods return. The writing team felt a new energy when they could write for the character. , she adds a new dimension to the story according the series story editor Kevin Rundle.

According to Kate Harwood everyone talks about them dragging old characters back but she feels it adds a sense of reality because in any community people come and go.

"Whats lovely about Peggy and the boys, who return later this year, is that it gives another axis to play off - in addition to old rivals and old love affairs we can now consider new options for them. It gives the whole thing a new dynamic and rocks the stable we have set up at the moment"

I can't wait I'm glad she stayed out while Louise Berridge was at the helm.
Peggy would have been back and dead in two days

I'm glad they're culling more people so they can bring in a fresh era for the show with lots of new faces.

I don't like many of the cast to be honest so I don't care who they get rid of. I just wish dennis, chrissie, kat, sharon weren't going.

Very Very well said. It is real, and not a sign of a flagging soap. That always gets my goat.

What I took from this was that the writers didnt have anything to get their teeth into until Peggy returned. They needed this dynamic to spice things up.

Well when they've had stuff like Mofie to write I'm sure they'll be glad of something different.
