Am I the only poster on D.S. who actually likes this character?

I struggle to understand where all the poison about him comes from.

I stand up and say proudly

'My name is fannianni and I like Alfie Moon.'

Anyone joining me?

I respect your opinion, but sorry, I won't be joining you.

He was great to start with, but his ego has got the better of him over the years and now he actually makes me want to turn off EE whenever he gets a scene.

Alfie Moon is one of the best characters ever to be on EE! People are been too harsh on him and its all because of Mofie!

I really thought I was the only one.

........and another thing

I don't mind the Kat/Alfie/Mo storyline either.

Molfie has just added to the problem. It's not so much Alfie himself who is the problem - it's Shane Ritchie. Shane has a super-sized ego, it has to be said, and Alfie just comes across as ego-centric and arrogant.

"I'm BGFW, and I hate both Alfie Moon and Shane Ritchie"

Not as much as when he first came into EE though.

It has to be said though that the voting public of Britain aren't in agreement with you.

I am unaware of such dislike other than on D.S.

I respect all of your opinions, of course

But I have found the whole Molfie thing tedious and long-winded. It seems to have been written purely to compliment Alfie's ego, and had been successful. I used to think both Kat and Mo were very successful characters - Alfie has dragged them down.

I liked cheeky chappy Alfie, married to Kat, working in the Vic.

I don't like the new working on the market, can't decided which sister to go with, face like a slapped arse Alfie.

I think the character of Alfie is a pain, but I think the writers must share the blame. Taking away the Vic from Alfie and leaving him running a stall, plus of course the dreadful triangle story - I have not spoken to anyone who likes this story - has made his part more difficult to play.

Well I know of many people who dislike both Alfie and Shane believing him to be to ego-centric.

But yes, I admit the majority of Britain's voters are not on my side. I am honestly shocked he was even nominated for best actor - Alfie is just Shane Ritchie with a different name. There's no personality difference between the two!

Just like they did with the original will they/won't they between Kat and Alfie.

I think the length of time that stories drag on is one of EE's biggest problems at the moment, particularly when it's not a likeable or believable story.

In contrast to that though, there's the present storyline of Sharon back working in The Vic as though nothing had ever happened.I don't find that timescale credible.

Neither do I, although I suppose they could argue that she's in denial about the whole thing.

Sharon's clarity of thought seems to have been affected in the lead up to the wedding. For instance, when Sam started banging on about what Chrissie had done to a packed Vic, the old Sharon would have been instantly suspicious and wanted to know more.

The Sharon of today dismissed it as a dig at the fact she was marrying Dennis and left it at that.

The old Sharon wouldn't have bought the credit card excuse either. I know I didn't

I agree.

I thought it would be dreadful when I heard Shane was going into EEs but I quckly changed my mind as I thought Alfie really worked as a character. The old days of Kat and Alfie were great imo.

I do think now that both Shane and Jessie seem to be going through the motions. They've lost the spark they had between them and it just doesnt work any more.
Alfie started going downhill the day he left The Vic.

Will this 'Alfie Moon' be missed? No!

Yeah, why ever not? When he first came into it he was a breath of fresh air, a real bundle of fun. I think it's just this flipping Molfie storyline that they've been dragging out so long that's let him down.

Even so, I'm surprised you consider him the best thing EastEnders have had in ages. Even pre-Molfie, I didn't think he was anything to shout about...
