What a different crowd this year's HMs are. In previous years, the evictee (and the non-evictee) have both been the on the receiving end of big hugs (some genuine, some false, but hugs nonetheless) a nano-second after Davina has made the announcement.

This year (and not just tonight) the HMs have remained rooted to their seats and only later, and individually, made any show of affection/sympathy/delight/sadness, whatever.

That can only partly be explained by the divide. It's more a function of an absence of group bonding.

OK, so Spencer showed little expression of emotion himself, but why were the rest so blank? Except for smug bugger Alex, who allowed himself that annoying, self-satisfied smile.

Eeuuugh!

Still, if we can't vote him out, let's just hope he gets nominated regularly, so he spends each week in a turmoil of insecurity.
