Why I'm not Voting Anymore

I haven't got a problem with Spencer ot Alex , but it seems to me that the fun has gone out of voting.

The HM's nominate on Monday, the result is announced on Tuesday, there is news on the Radio, Papers and TV that Bookmakers have stopped taking bets on Spencer(or whoever) and then Spencer(or whoever) is evicted on Friday,

This has happened with both Alison and Spencer and I'm pretty sure this will hapen until the end of the show.

Betting syndicates are obviously heavily influencing the vote so why bother voting its a waste of time.

Channel 4 seriously need to sort this out as it's really spoiling my enjoyment of the whole thing.

And how do you propose C4 sort it out?

not really C4's fault though is it and not a lot they can do to correct it now, when bookies offerd 50-1 on Alex to win (in the first week, odds have shortened a bit since) the money went down, so now it's up to the syndicates to keep him in or they lose out, this weeks suspension was more down to the fact that news of the possiblity of syndicate involvement was becoming common knowledge, so a lot of regular punters started backing the same horse

The one thing that annoys me about these kind of shows is that all the other shows and newspapers always conduct their own polls so you know who's going anyway before Friday night and it spoils the suspense.

I think you're right. It doesn't feel the same as it did last time. It all feels a bit unreal. I've voted several times and it just isn't the same as the last 2. I think it's because there is so much in the media about who is going to win and about the betting syndicates. Anyway as much as I don't like it I think Adele is playing a very good game. She is getting Alex on side (by cuddling), she is getting Jade onside (by bitching in unison). I wonder how long it will take before (to quote a phrase by Jade) ''the backstabbing'' will start.

If you look at the keep Alex in campaign thread you will see that unless you are prepared to spend large amounts of dosh there really is no point voting at all. This is not to criticise anyone in the Alex camp but when you read posts boasting about the number of times they voted for a particular nominee you can see it makes no sense casting a single vote.

Out of 2.25 million votes casts I would imagine there were only about 300,000 actual voters and it was only a question of who was prepared to spend the most.

What I do find strange is that both RI:SE in the morning and Graham Norton at night weren't impartial but ran active campaigns against Spencer. I'm not saying it's a fix but you would expect C4 to try and be fair to all nominees and not try and tip public opinion so blatently.

Fair play to Alex, he won. Onto next week.

To be honest, as much as i hated it the first time round they should do wht they did on the first show and put everyone up every week and let the housemates decide who gets evicted, that way the syndicates cannot dictate who wins.

How about they annouce the nominations early Friday evening, say 6.30pm, and everyone just gets 2 hours to vote. Less scope for media speculation, less scope for betting, less time for multiple voting.

no but they can dictate who is nominated, and keep alex out of the running until it gets to the final two, at which time it would have to revert to the public

Half of the fun though is seeing how the nominated housemates cope with four days of paranoia and rejection. Besides think of how much it would cost C4.

This would work much better but i really couldn't see channel four going for it for the simple fact that they would make less money. The only solution i can see to it is to avoid reading the papers from wednesday onwards. its tough but im gonna try it next week! Wish me luck!

Back on topic.............don't bother voting - I gave up after the 1st betting scam on Alison. So I was only 25p out of pocket. Just enjoy - or not - the show itself.

you related to delboyplums by any chance?

I always advise people to get out more .... just to keep them in touch with some kind of reality. I hate to imagine half or more of the UK sitting in front of the TV (plasma one or not) watching BB3 eating kebabs drinking tinnies and reading the Sun ....

Jeez what a dismal thought

It's very dangerous when the public decide on an outcome, a lot of people have wised up to BB and can see that they can make a lot of money on the results, because they are effecting the decision. It's no longer a best/popular/worst (whatever) housemate competition, it's about who's got the best odds.
