i think that is to do with the ad also on E4 rather than any kidnap storyline in the spin off, as the ad on e4 shows them with a couple of other hollyoaks charcaters on the hollyoaks set then a purple van with e4 written on pulls up and out jumps men in purple outfits and "kidnapps" them with the voice over saying something like they are now exclusivly on E4

also e4 music had a tv programme today and yesterday where the cast chose the songs to be played (the lads yesterday and the girls today) called "hijacked by the hollyoaks lads/girls

Talking of the spin off and new characters, can some one clear up the issue of Ally and Alex for me please. Ive missed a fair bit of Hollyoaks recently and am a little confused.

1. How did Lisa and Ally meet?

2. Are Ally and Alex really Sister and brother or does Ben just think they are?

3. Who is the opther guy that Ally is supposed to be seeing/ NAd if Alex is her brother why cant he kow about him?

1 lisa and ally met on the main show a few episodes back, she went out to buy new hair straightners(when she was still upset about ben), but there was some mix up at the shop and ally got them instead, and lisa and ally got chatting, they went for coffee and then stayed in touch

2. ally and alex are brother and sister, (ben and lisa assumed initially they were a couple)

3. i am not sure why alex is not meant to know about who ally is seeing, however, i think it is meant to come clear during the spin off

here is more info from hollyoaks.com

Tonight sees the transmission of the first episode of the latest HOLLYOAKS spin-off series, LET LOOSE. What can we expect?

Affairs
Well, the fact the programme is being broadcast at 9pm, technically post-watershed, should give you the first clue.

As with previous HOLLYOAKS late night affairs, this new show explores themes and issues of a self-consciously more adult nature, albeit - given the hour-long episode duration - in greater depth and detail than its predecessors.

Potent
The starting point for LET LOOSE is Ben and Lisa trying to make a new life for themselves away from the Village. Long-term fans will recall a similar device was used to launch HOLLYOAKS: MOVIN' ON in 2001, when Ruth, Lewis, Finn and Tony sought a fresh start in a new environment, and met a mixture of high drama and low farce.

Should we be prepared for the same potent recipe this time around?

Unfurls
The answer, of course, can be found at 9pm tonight on E4, which the first episode of LET LOOSE unfurls itself in glorious technicolour.

We'll be marking the occasion with the launch of a new tie-in website, replete with episode info, character profiles, behind the scenes gossip and a brand new forum, all of which you'll be able to access later today. So that's a new show and a new site - not one but two reasons for dispensing with those Monday blues.

it was shockingly bad.

and as for the little amount ben and lisa actually did, i thought ally was going to turn around to the new people and say "i see dead people"

Just watching it now. REALLY bad. The titles were awful (reminded me of a cheesy american soap - oh, yeah, just got it ) and it went downhill from there.

i thought it was pretty good, some good gags in it, i liked the way it is 'loose' and actually goes where hollyoaks cant apart form late night eps such as swearing and talk of sex/insest etc

the acting was apalling, and the nudity was gratuitous. it had nowhere to go, and you didnt care about any of the characters. actually, thinking about it, the new cast were rip-offs from 'Friends'. Even down to brother and sister, and sister's best friend leaving her wedding in the first episode!

It was just like that spin-off with Tony, Ruth and some other pointless new characters.

It's awful, the acting (aside from Lisa and Ben) is appalling, and the only thing that Lisa and Ben are doing is trying to shag. That's it!! Who cares about a non-wedding from characters we couldn't care less about.

Thankfully, I didn't have high hopes about it, but I doubt I'll watch it again. Nice to see Carlos back in the soaps again (that guy at the start, Nathan?)

I thought it was quite good actually - far better than the awful late night specials of last week.

Ben and Lisa were less annoying than usual and Alex and Ally seemed to fit in more in the "Let Loose" setting than their brief appearances in the main shows.

As for gratuitus nudity - it's post-watershed Hollyoaks, it's part of the appeal. There wasn't much at all really compared to the early late-night editions - and I didn't notice any swearing either!

As for the titles and theme - yes, like a cheesy American soap, but not bad - and at least we have new titles at last.

The titles of the main show were introduced two years ago - and most the people in them were axed a few months later!

Am I the only one to have thoroughly enjoyed it? I was expecting complete crap but instead I liked it better than the actual show.

Ben & Lisa were overshadowed in my opinion, Jenny stole the show for me. I also like the credits, The style of them is very american and extremely cheesy but it's nice to have something different on british TV for once.

I've hated Ben & Lisa together but this show makes them, err...better I guess. Anyway, I like it and will be watching from now on.

It didn't blow me away but was good for a bit of light entertainment. I think like a lot of new shows and spin offs it'll get better as it goes on and may just take some time getting usded to the characthers.

As for the sex, there wasn't really much. And with regards to Ben and Lisa just wanting to get it on throughout the whole episode, so what?! Thats what new relationships are like. Its an amazing feeling when you've just gotten together with someone new and you just cant kep your hands off of each other.

I know you posted last night, but incase you're still confused I thought I'd fill you in...

At the start of the ep Ben and Lisa were sleeping in the 'building site' area of the building Allys apartment is in. They woke up and started getting a little er 'fresh' shall we say, when two builders walked in with camera phones at the ready. Ben and Lisa made a run for it, grabbing what clothes bags they could, but Ben left his Trousers behind and had to wear a pair of Lisa's.

Not great but I always give a new show three episodes for the characters to bed in before I make a judgement
