Was running up and down the stairs not good enough?
Jade seemed seduced yesterday by the prospect of the machine having nice shiny clocks and counters on it

I'd have spent more on booze, me.

I was wondering if BB would introduce a mini-task for the rich side, rather like the exercise bike task seen in BB1, maybe they have to run the length of Britain in a set time and if they pass the poor side get a reward.

Jade and a running machine, I do hope she's packed a sports bra....

Seemed to be alot of money just for that. And according to the offical BB website, that is juts hiring it for the week, cant even keep it for the rest of the series

“This week, the generous £400 shopping list had to stretch a little further, as health-mad Adele insisted on a running machine for the House, rented for the not inconsiderable sum of £150.”

Seems like a hell of a waste to me!

At least they're taking the opportunity to buy stuff that may stave off the boredom for a week (they won't be allowed to keep it will they?), altho' not so good for us viewers, I've had quite enough of Jade's red, sweating face to last me a lifetime thank you

It seems Adele requested it....I'm no expert but do running machines cost that much money just to hire for 7 days?!

They'd have been better spending it on a cheap microscope, then they could look for their ickle brains.

Morons

not a moron
can only see his brain by looking the wrong way through a huge telescope.

In a world where a shirt-for-brains like Jade can (allegedly) earn 18 grand p.a. ANYTHINGS possible.

Jack
earns alot less than Jade :'(

Aren't the figures for the luxury items made up by BB though to see whether the hms will bite and if they are willing to make the sacrifice.

Iirc, wasn't one magazine last week priced at £100? I think its BB trying to see how desperate they are for stimuli and what they are willing to give up for it.

AND don't they get enough exercise from all the back-stabbing??

No, I suppose that only works the upper body.

£150 just seems a lot of money to spend on what is the human equivelant of a hamster wheel. Can't they just spend it on nice food and jog round the garden instead?!

when I saw the thread title 'running on empty', I assumed the discussion would be referring to Jade's head

And right now she is gorging on chocolate and lying on the couch. Maybe if she weren’t such a glutton she wouldn’t need to waste 1/3 of their budget.

Oh come on! Do we honestly expect to SEE jade on that machine?

She will stand on it , it will start up, she will tip over and she will sob sob sob.

BTW - will someone kindly tell me how to do that 'quote' thing?

On the Australian Big Brother they have a kind of running track around the garden. I certainly wouldn't spend £150 on a treadmill.

Dont you think £400 is alot of money to spend on food ect for just 4 people in 1 week. What do BB do with the food that gets sent back to the store room on a saturday night before the Task?
Does anyone know?

will they not be running out of cash - PJ could have a driven the beer bill up too
