Well, we've now reached the half way mark of BB3, and after lots of opinions in the early stages, now is a good time to reflect.
I've found that this year the show has become far more of a game. The tasks and divide have taken away what the first series' had and made it more tactical from early on.
I don't feel it is so much about 'reality' - which is what I enjoyed so much. I also feel that BB have controlled the events too much.
It has been a very eventful series though. So much more has happend in this half, then the others. Surprise eviction, 2 people walking, loads of bitching, the Divide, Task winners deciding who to live with, PJ's BJ, Snogging, rows etc. You can't argue that it hasn't been. However, the increase of people with access to E4 has meant that many more of us are watching more of the live stuff. The change from one long weekly task, along with the removal of personal luxeries has meant that the HM's have had nothing to interact with - leading to their bordem and ours. This means they haven't had much to bond over as a group and had anything to distract them from the cameras. I still feel that most of them are still hiding behind a mask.
The change of location also adds to the feeling that this is a very differnt show. We have nothing really to remind us of the last 2 years. Add the format differnces and we are left with a pretty much new show.
Maybe this year they made too many changes. They also promised it would be tougher - I don't think it is tougher - it's just different. The 3 strikes rule is laughable. It gives the contestants more freedom. They know they can break the rules and only get a strike, whereas if they had no idea what the punishment would be, they wouldn't be so keen to do it.
The contestants ages have been too close together. This changes the dynamics straight away and removes the idea of mixing different people together - if you see what I mean!? A group of people in their early 20's will interact very differntly from a group with a greater age range.
So, do I like it? Well, i'm still watching and writing this, so I must do. I haven't enjoyed it as much as 1 and 2 though.
Well, I could rabbit on for ages, but I will close now. Like to see what everyone else think now.!
