I didn't watch Spencer's appearance on GM:TV choosing to watch Alison on RI:SE. GM:TV is famous for rubbish interviews and long awkward pauses so my stomach wasn't really ready for a dose of early morning Spencer. Was the interview better than expected or exactly what was expected?

he's a little bit more communicative but hasn't said anything new. Waiting for he & Helen. You can catch that, Atlantic, they haven't been on yet but it's hard work having to put up with the rest of the show!

I'm surprised Spencer is on GM:TV. Surely a rebellious non-conformist cool dude like him wouldn't be seen dead with Lorraine and BB2 Helen!

Please let me know how this segment goes. Unfortunately I'm at work and therefore can't sneakily watch Lorraine on telly

helen likes him. She put £200 in bets on him & S. said she should've put it on voting. L asks how he thinks he was perceived. S says he hasn't seen much but he did shower. Talk about no mags. Sp says he thinks it was so that they would talk. Says he didn't invite Kate to his friend's wedding - just to Scotland. Helen says he should take the opportunity to dress up, buy new clothes etc. Helen thinks it will be Alex & Sophie up this week. Says he has only seen 20 mins of show & doesn't have ideas. Helen talks more - about the tasks being too short. Sp. asks if she saw the Japanese thing & that's it. He seemed more shy than rebel attitude - a bit overwhelmed but he hasn't had much sleep with seeing friends & family & getting up early.

I don't think this is Spencer on GMTV - he doesn't get up until the afternoon!

He'll be under contract for the whole of this week and won't have any choice in the matter.

I thought that the contract was for Ch 4. Does it include a rival company?

Good point ... I suppose that's one way to get back at Channel 4. But wouldn't that mean he's not under any contract to appear only on Channel 4 programmes? Also is he going to be a regular on BBLB this week?

probably. I wish it would say on the official site when former HMs are going to be on. I rarely watch GMTV & I only switched over by chance.

hey claim to fame i was also on gmtv this morning they showed a clip from fridays eviction night and i was stroking spencers arm when he was talking to the lady next to me......
i know thats really pathetic but i couldnt believe it when davina stopped him right next to me and instinctively i rubbed his arm as i couldnt think of anything else to do.he is very good looking in the flesh too and very tall.

So ... was he smelly??

to be honest i had been really cool all day as i am 33 and felt a bit stupid getting all excited about seeing him or alex.
my sister and i had been queing with our tickets since 3pm and by the time spencer came out i had a big cheesy grin and didnt pay any attention to how he smelt but i dont remember anything nasty.....
i do remember that he looked in total shock and was as white as a sheet you know like if someone had just had an accident he was really shook up.when he came back out from the studio with davina he had really calmed down and looked alot more relaxed he even thanked my sister for her "spencer goldenballs of bb3" banner.he was soon whisked away afterwards but he carried on waving to us all from an open window i think spencer might just enjoy the fame thing as he lost his cool and was grinning from ear to ear at everyone chanting his name.

shirl, is it neccesary to queue from 3pm? I've got tickets for this Friday but I don't fancy getting there that early! I'm not too bothered about not being at the front as long as I can see something...
shirl
24-06-2002
no you dont need to queue from that time.
we travelled from near southport to get there and deciced to set off early in case we had trouble finding it.
we found it straight away and there was only 3 other people there at that time.it just means you get to choose where you stand.
however dont get there too late as you are not guaranteed to get in if you are at the end of the line.i would say the majority started to arrive at about 5pm.it is right next door to a 24hr tesco so you are ok for drinks and munchies whilst you wait and we parked on tescos car park which seemed to be ok.
its alot of waiting around but if the weathers good its quite chilling.they are pretty strict about what you take in and give you a full body search.no cameras drinks perfume and most important no sticks on your banner they will take them off you and it could hold you up getting in.also if you make a banner dont write it on the back of something that could be used for advertising.someone had made a fantastic sign and obviously spent ages on it but it had been made on the back of a disneyland paris board and they confiscated it.they like you to have a banner and encourage you to the front if you make one.
lastly all the action happens nearer to the studio and not the house end so its best to make your way there.my sister and i were on tv 3 times on friday as davina kept stopping right by us and even brought spencer over to the woman next to me.davina comes out and says heloo and shakes all your hands before the show which is nice and we even had sonia from eastenders there and she spoke to people up and down the line.

have a great night youll really enjoy it if i knew what you looked like id be watching for you.my 2 children thought it was hilarious that mum was on the telly and my husband just keeps shaking his head and telling me im sad but has said that if i get more tickets he wants to come!!!!!!

Thanks for the comprehensive reply shrl!

Well I'm 30 and so is my wife so I think there are a lot of us "sad" Big Bro fans out there who should be old enough to know better!

I'll try not to get there too late, and thanks for the tip, I''l try to stand nearer the studio bit.

Do they have a policy on "negative" banners? "You Smell, Spencer", that kind of thing?
shirl
24-06-2002
people did have banners with smelly spencer and nasty things about jade but i would just use common sense and not write anything too nasty as they are constantly walking up and down to look at what youve got and i suppose if it was too bad they would take it off you.someone had "bring back marjorie" and they took that off them too as you couldnt refer to any other bb.

im 33 but there was quite a few older than me there.the woman next to me who hugged spencer must have been late 40s and she nearly wet her knickers with exitement when he came over so i do pride myself with the fact that i wasnt that cheesy.

Shirl. why was Sonia there? to meet Spencer? and what's Davina like?
shirl
24-06-2002
i guess sonia was there because the house is only about 5 minutes walk from the eastenders set and she probably enjoys it just like we do.
davina walked along the crowd and shook nearly everyones hand and said thanks for coming.she seemed really genuine and natural with people and i got the impression she genuinely enjoys watching bb.cant tell you much else apart from she was really pretty a nd had a real sparkle about her

cheers shirl. I'd love to go but couldn't stand the journey across London on a Friday & the hanging round. I always meant to go when it was just across the river in Bow but never got round to it. bet the atmosphere was great.!
